“There’s blood on board matching the president’s blood type (nacho cheese?) in case of emergency.”
Pro-tip: Come up with a witty insult about the officer’s waist size and penchant for doughnuts. I guarantee they’ll be thrown entirely off guard by such a unique witticism.
I believe that’s a fourhead, not a fivehead.
Ok, never mind that both cars are 440ci powered (1 4bbl and 1 6bbl).
So they took a regular frame, made it have a taller ride, and added a couple more jumper seats to say it now sits 7.
Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts made one of the best soundtracks ever for this show
Last summer. 18 days on the road. 5,637 miles. 16 National parks or state parks/rec areas. 12 rounds of golf in 9 states. In a 2009 MB CLK-350 convertible...had the top down for all but maybe 300 miles in total. I had gotten divorced, had a ton of unused vacation, and the mountains were calling. Perhaps a midlife…
I’ve done a few in the 6000-7000 mile range by now, but the most impressive was for my 40th birthday. I decided to cross the number one item of my bucket list: the Nürburgring. In my own car.
In summer, 2016, my girlfriend and I drove up to Colorado for my little sister’s wedding, several days early to help with prep. Actually, too early; my sister requested that we come a day later, to give them a bit more alone time before the herds descended. No problem - I wanted to show my lady the area where I had…
Vancouver to Montreal in a $600 ‘97 Blazer, and back again. 10,000kms total, sleeping in the truck or tenting in random spots. This post would be stupidly long if I included detail, and I don’t have time at the moment for that, so here’s some pictures.
In 2015 I ordered a 2016 BMW M235i for European Delivery and took my Mom on an epic roadtrip around Europe for a month. Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy, San Marino, Vatican City, Switzerland, and France, where we dropped the car off and flew home. Spent a week in Budapest with friends, and a friend flew to Rome to…
No camera phones or digital cameras back then. These are stills from an album taken with camera phone. The bottom two are of our group helping push a tractor that was stranded in the sand. The third picture is me standing in front of Mt. Everest. My point-n-shoot didn’t handle the contrast very well. Our friends…
In 2003 did a round trip from Wilmington CA to Morelia Mexico in a ‘98 Ford F-150 in the middle of August. I don’t know how I survived sitting in the bed of the truck inside the camper. It was cool seeing the signs saying “entering the Tropic of Cancer” and befriending Mexican marines though.
Picture it....Sicily, 1937......ok, not quite. Fast forward a few years to 2017.
I’ve had some decent ones, including driving nonstop from Connecticut to Tampa for a friend’s wedding and a seven day trip last year that included about a half dozen national parks, jumping desert trucks in Vegas, and an old VW paperweight on a uhaul trailer, but probably my best was when my friend and I did an epic…
Drove from Lhasa to Everest base camp on the Tibet side via the so-called Friendship Highway in 2001. It was neither friendly nor was it a highway. In fact, there were stretches that didn’t resemble a road at all. At one point we encountered a checkpoint with two lonely guards and a single-bar gate blocking the way.…
Was waiting for the guard rail to fail on that one.
