A deli near my work (shoutout Dino’s!) is no longer a Subway, the franchise owner apparently dropped his affiliation with them but kept all the equipment so it still very much feels like a Subway. Consequently, all the food is way better and costs almost exactly the same. He says he kept basically all his customers…

Their meatball sandwich is for people who’ve never had a meatball sandwich other than Subway’s. I actually find that to be their most egregious sandwich because the meatballs are tiny, a million degrees, and are served with way too much sauce on bread ill suited to a meatball sub. 

I had a similar experience with a 2003 Civic...man was the inside of that thing nice.

Oh I’d have no doubt that the 5th gen car is overall better built.  I actually prefer the inside of a 3rd gen to a 4th, less plastic, but the particular car I drove is certainly one of the better 4th gens remaining.

I put 200 miles on a 4th gen last week (a lovingly maintained 94 Z28 with 184k miles) and it wasn’t nearly as cheap feeling to drive as I thought I remembered. Tons of plastic, the dashboard is like a mile deep, and it creaked a little but that car drove great. And as you said, visibility was excellent. 

The world looked at that car, said ‘I’d rather be dead’ and went on their collective way.

I’ll say one thing about the halo: in the seconds after the crash, my first thought was ‘glad they’ve got the halo’.

I think that’s beside the point, isn’t it? The halo wasn’t invented because somebody knew LeClerc would have a close call at Spa this year, it was invented for if this crash occurred juuuuuuuuust a tiny bit differently. The crash today showed that a similar incident could happen, and if it did the halo is in the right…

Actually I expect diarrhea from Papa John’s so I found the racism to be a nice change. 

Easy, taking a dump. I sat down, felt something in my back, went about my business, and the next day I couldn’t get out of bed. Missed a week of work throwing my back out sitting down to drop a deuce.

One time I got home from a short drive, went to unbuckle my son, and noticed that I hadn’t tightened his harness. Like, at all. Something had distracted me, and if we got in an accident on that (thankfully short and uneventful) trip, he may have been dead and it would have been my fault.

I’ve always said .220 for JBJ and I wouldn’t say a word, but with the way he’s played the outfield this year (the best centerfield I’ve ever seen played), I’ve lowered the offensive bar to .200. What’s crazy is that he really is a better hitter than that, but this season even his .200 has been streaky, which is tough…

I feel like everybody in those videos basically got what was coming to them, so...

My toddler had hand, foot and mouth disease that he got from a kid at daycare. He had cute little red bumps around his mouth and on the backs for his hands for 2-3 days but was otherwise fine.
