If VW is paying a fair market price, I’d say it’s reasonable to return them the whole car. If they’re not paying a fair market price, I’d say it’s reasonable to remove a few bits. Fair is pretty important, actually.

That’s a good point. You’d think maybe a partial refund anyway, for the ‘used portion’ of your loan. So if you paid $2200 in taxes and only had the car for half of a 6 year note, you should get back $1100 there.

I like this list. Not necessarily for what it’s supposed to be, since there’s a bunch of not-a-supercars and one kinda-supercar that’s over $35k, but it’s a list of quite good cars that I’d like to own.
