They’ve really upped their camouflage game by parking it like a BMW.

Yeah, that’s a strange message. Mexicans and Chinese can’t have jobs, but it’s OK if Americans, Canadians, Germans, Italians, Brits, Japanese and Koreans have jobs. Exploring the reasons behind that could get into a whole other non-economic discussion.
“Overall production in Mexico actually dropped for the first time in years, just one percent, but is expected to remain stable going forward. That’s good news to the accountants at GM, but probably bad news for just about everybody else.”
Musk wants us to believe the worst is over. When a growing company that wants to increase production/sales while introducing new models (Y, Roadster, Semi, etc.) resorts to cutting that much staff I can’t see it as anything other than a last gasp for air (cash). This isn’t a mature company. This isn’t a cash-saving…
When I went car shopping I looked for something that would fit my family, but the “luxuries” I wanted were Fun, passive entry/start, remote start, heated leather(ish) seats, and fits in my garage. I also would have liked Android Auto and better cup holders for a bottle of water, but I guess you can’t have everything.
In order to use this system, as described by Elon, you need to bring your own car (or hitch a ride on one). This car needs to be electric (not enough ventilation for gas), self-driving, and have right track width to fit on the “rails” while fitting between the curbs, and needs to be able to install guide-wheels. It…
Yeah, you could find alternative solutions for revenue collection and crowd control, but it’s not even fully functional for what it is.
Well, sure, but is it really complete? Does it have rails, cars, electrical systems, stations, ticketing, etc.? Are the capacities similar? Is the scope similar?
Not a regular road at all. A dark, slow road that can only be used by teslas with special accessories and only in one direction at a time. Regular roads work much better.
Was suppsed to be a subway, but faster and more flexible.
I wonder if he thinks this makes him look tough or edgy. To me it doesn’t look tough. He thinks the rules don’t apply to him. When he breaks the “rules” about what an electric car should be, that’s interesting and good. When he breaks them in ways that hurt investors, mislead customers, or flaunt industry standards…
I'm guessing that paint and body shops are staying across the street and there will be a second, smaller assembly line in the new place. That's assuming it's really assembled there, but you could also reverse the material flow (body shop at the "new" plant) if assembly isn't your bottleneck.
It’s easier on a lease than a loan because you pay the difference between the sales price and “residual” value, or what they expect the car to be worth in 3 years at the end of the lease. So if your residual is $17k, then (24k - 17k)/36 = $194/.month. If you take off 1k of customer cash, 2k of supplier discount, 1k…
1/3 of office employees have the option to take the buyout. Generally speaking, I think about 10% take it. With those assumptions, that’s only 1/30th (3.3%) of the white collar work force. I guess we’ll see after Nov. 21 whether that’s enough for Mary.
I can’t imagine that anyone believes that the company can “unintentionally” make only higher trims unless they also believe that Tesla is “accidentally” making cars. They plan each day’s production days, if not weeks, ahead of schedule all the way down to the paint color. There could be good reasons to continue to…
This is probably actually an electrocoating process to ensure that the rustproofing gets everywhere. I don’t think this is uncommon anymore, but I have no idea if FCA does it.
Other commentators also make good points, however there is a network effect to the effectiveness as well. If you are 50% less likely to get the flu if exposed, then you are also 50% less likely to pass it on. This means the next person has a lower chance of being exposed to the flu at all, and are are still 50% less…
If my side window is already all the way open, does it still add a noticeable amount of airflow?
You don’t need data, just common sense.
Because my post is long: Some of my favorites are the Henry Ford Museum, the beer, and the Jazz Fest. Read more below.
