It sounds like this is an employee-option, meaning the employee would reject the promotion, not the union. This would only be a demand if the union and its members found that option to be valuable. In order for it to be valuable, being a union employee must be preferred to being the next level up.

You know the union has excelled in negotiations (to put it politely) when getting a promotion hurts your income and must be avoided through more negotiations.

Not to be too picky, but I think it’s important. It is not a single piece of data. Each reading is at least a mileage and a date/time. Combined with other readings, you have a data set.

(Annoying Grandma Voice) That’s not a Buick!!!

This seems like it has a lot of benefits, but I hope the implementation gets standardized.

Yes, of course this is hyperbole, clearly I would never expect anyone to believe that I can fly no matter how much I insist.

If I insisted repeatedly that I knew how to fly, but then jumped really high, you’d call me a delusional idiot for thinking I can fly. If I did this sort of thing repeatedly eventually you’d get tired of me, change your phone number, and suddenly become busy every time I wanted to hang out.

The point that there are no stripper new cars and all new cars have historicaly high levels of safety, emissions, and entertainment equipment is part of the problem. Fortunately they are also more reliable than ever, so used cars can fill this void easily.

I thought this was the ferrari the ferrari spider

I can hardly bear it.

I’m glad we’ve shifted resources from the War on Drugs and the War on Terror to the War on Go-Carts. I hope this priority is emphasized in the upcoming election coverage.

Isn’t “crisis” what the old hosts used to call an orgasm? Sounds like an interesting talk.

How far ahead does the radar look? How smart is it about anticipating other “stupid” drivers?

So this is an undercover go cart bust?

I wondered that as well. I think it comes down to you still need to move the car forward after you break traction. In a drift the back comes out, but the car still goes “forward.” To still go quickly, as top drift cars do, you need tons of traction in the back, and tons of power to break that traction.

Nice user name.

Since the engine will be junked, I recommend we source a “better” engine for all of these repurchased cars. In fact, I recommend a very specific “better” engine.

I could virtually watch this several times.

I considered that possibility, but that wouldn’t be that impressive. In fact I bet the cop’s shoes cost more than an hour of his own wages. Either he was trying to find something in common with the cop, or that is not what he meant.

If his shoes are that expensive, I hope they allow him to hover, or dunk, or become invisible. They should at least massage his feet. At least then he’d be more relaxed.
