I am absolutely a passive train fan, as is my 3 y.o. son. We bonded over this video of a geared locomotive in WV coal country. I listen to this whistle for hours...to me it sounds like the rise of workers and the land.

My problem with them is the very very low rotor inertia which makes establishing or getting into an auto rotation much more complicated especially for new pilots. Robinsons have low inertia rotor systems which mean you have about 1 second to perform the steps necessary to auto properly when the engine craps out on you
