Exactly, the one remaking A New Hope nearly scene for scene was the one “fans” liked. TLJ is the one with complexity.

Maybe it just made less money because the TFA is a special case, being the first Star Wars movie in decades. The three other new Star Wars movies made even less than TLJ.
