Let’s not let Disney play with words here. They aren’t adding an ad tier - they are putting ads in the current $7.99 plan price we all have. If we don’t want ads we need to pay $10.99.

Re-watching Daredevil right now - and I just love D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. Perfect.
Finally, the aliens use black hole technology against Earth in the trailer for War of the Worlds’ third season
God dang Donofrio looks good as Kingpin.
That doesn’t sound like he’s saying he doesn’t like scripted media to me. Just that he isn’t going to join the rat-race of trying to compete with other streaming services’ scripted content. I disagree with that business decision, but it’s a perfectly logical decision to cede that audience to Netflix and Disney.
Not to mention I pay for commercial free but on one of my TVs, I still get commercials on Paramount+.
This is absolutely the case for me as well. I’ll deal with a frustrating UI for good content but I won’t breeze through the most amazing UI ever invented for stuff I don’t want to watch.
It’s easy to have best in class performance when nobody watches anything on the platform.
Can’t believe they haven’t realized content is all that matters. I put up with Paramount+’s horrible features and UI because I want the content.
I can’t wait until Zaslav explains that HBO/Discovery subscribers will be happy to pay double for the high quality programming they have planned just before announcing a 2X price increase.
Now let’s hear David’s statement once more while he’s being restrained by Wonder Woman’s lasso of truth.
Looking forward to 3 years from now when Discovery sells off Warner Bro’s. chopped up remains to Amazon and Disney.
I’ve never used Discovery+. Does it really have “best in class” performance? Netflix has been in the game the longest and I still have issues with their apps sometimes.
Same company; different people.
yeah but that wasnt the people in charge now
How long before the smoke covers the land again.
The saddest thing about this is that the brilliant William Morgan Sheppard is no longer with us. Blank Reg was a man ahead of his time, and I could have easily seen Sheppard stepping right back into that role. Even at 86, he was still punk AF.
I loved the ABC tv series because it was so subversive/satirical about the society where TV was everything and values were twisted. There was one scene where Edison Carter was accused of credit fraud and his executive boss yells out “Credit fraud! That’s’ worse than murder!”
The Max Headroom show on ABC was pretty dark! They don’t even need to do a gritty reboot, they can just do an exact replica reboot.
