Monetization-wise it’s supposed to have cosmetic only microtransactions (assuming they’re telling the truth which we can’t even guarantee these days, they lied about Immortal) and expansion packs.
It’s an MMO in parts (akin to Guild Wars 1 kinda), so if that counts as “live service”, it is, and you can forget it. D3 was also “live service” in the sense that it had changing content (seasons) and was always online. On the other hand, D3 got extremely good after they fixed it post-RoS. It was pretty awful before…
They are probably waiting for the sale to go through then announce that they will all be hitting game pass.
The sale hasn’t gone through yet. Wouldn’t be surprised if they end up listed as on GamePass after it does.
I mean, there’s the same in a good way, and the same in a bad way. It definitely doesn’t look like it’s a total re-run of D2 or D3 though, it kind of looks like a mixture of them with elements of PoE and Grim Dawn thrown in, and weird MMO thing going on too. Honestly what I’ve seen so far looked good.
I’m glad for a lot of the games, but I’ll admit to being kind of salty that MWII and Diablo IV aren’t hitting GamePass. At least give GP subscribers 50% off or something.
