Draw what parallel? I never once compared what happened here to my experience overseas.

Unless your Kinja 'handle' is "LOBOMOBILE" - the user I was responding to - I wouldn't expect or ask you to.
"He could have easily obstructed her path by putting the baton in front of her[.]"
Although I will say in that instance, probably deserved the piling on. Kind of petty of me, but as I told another individual: it irked me that I very well could have been a security guard and that in discussion, someone felt it appropriate to attack me by virtue of profession.
"And when you do offer proof it is either counter productive (like you posting a deployment pic)[.]"
I'll wait for you to provide the peer-reviewed study on people-helping-people.
I just finished typing to another individual: I really don't like children.

"You're giving license to people to be brutal to one another for no other reason than you have your own control issues — you were either bullied or otherwise rejected — that you haven't dealt with, and you'll gladly visit those issues upon everyone."
I totally agree with you. Not sure how to respond other than to say most in the military should be able to run something close to - or in most cases, better than - that.
"But does that doesn't mean I don't think the police should lack in being able to clearly define what territory is theirs." = But that doesn't mean I don't think the police should lack in being able to clearly define what territory is theirs.
I'm from the West Coast but I absolutely, positively, without a doubt agree with you regarding the way the Boston Marathon was handled and its broader implications.
"If they were really concerned about their backs there would be a line of cops standing back to back."
I appreciate the comment.
With a half-marathon of 1:52:00 (though that wasn't in Afghanistan) and a two mile sub-13:30.
If you can't figure out there's a reason for space between the rear of the police dealing with the mob in the street and you, I can't help you.
For at least the third, possibly greater than, time...
