I’m talking about the full-time 4wd in XJs and Grand Cherokees. Depending on age it uses either a hydraulically-actuated clutch pack center differential, or a computer-controlled one. My personal favorite is Quadra-Drive on the WJ Grand Cherokee where all three differentials are relatively simple but effective

The video was produced by Autocar, a UK-based car magazine. Toyota doesn’t sell the 4Runner in the UK. They do sell the 3- and 5-door versions of the Land Cruiser Prado, but in the UK it’s just called the Land Cruiser, not Land Cruiser Prado. Here in the US, the Land Cruiser Prado is spiffed up into the Lexus GX.

Well if we’re being technical about it the Lexus GX is the Americanized version of the Prado. The 4Runner is a different body.

Because Real Truck People™ mistakenly think that full-time 4wd is sissy 4wd, or their only experience with it is a herky-jerky on-demand style system that doesn’t have a center differential and instead connects and disconnects the front axle on the fly, or they’re OFF ROADERS (real or imagined) who would never use

Saucony only offers my 4E width on a couple specific models.

I’m a shoe and fitness nerd cursed with wide feet. My real size is between a 10.5 and 11 4E, depending on brand.

Dude, no Citroen 2CV in For Your Eyes Only, after the car alarm on Bond’s Lotus Esprit blows up the entire car and the bad guy who smashed its window?

Don’t forget, the official Harley uniform starts with a beat up pair of Nike Air Monarchs, or the more expensive New Balance versions that they’re a knockoff of.

The first three generations of Toyota RAV4 had a side-hinged tailgate that opened the wrong direction for parallel parking in LHD markets, because Toyota put the hinge on the right for RHD and didn’t switch it on LHD cars.

Here in Wisconsin, most of our interstate speed limits were raised from 65 to 70 mph within the past few years. As you get into more populated areas they’ll go down to 65 or 55. Only problem is, now we have loads of people who don’t even come close to approaching 70 mph in the 70 mph limit zones, and a lot of these

Wait wait wait, $399 per month????

I have a Lenovo Yoga Tablet with a magnetic keyboard that’s kinda like a mini Surface that runs Android. It looks like this (but this pic is the Windows version).

It baffles me that 2-box designs are extremely popular in the US as long as they’re raised off the ground and/or taller than regular cars. They don’t really need to have any trucky pretensions. But a regular car 2-box vehicle is somehow terrible to most people.

The TourX is exactly an Outbacktified Regal wagon.

Minivan > SUV

But compression tights are a magical garment that keeps your balls in place while you run AND wick sweat away from your legs. The shorts over them are to be polite and not show the rest of the gym a spandex outline of your junk.

Ford plans to shake up its design team to shorten product development cycles

I’m 34. Back in the day my mom’s 1989 Ford Taurus LX wagon, in which I frequently rode in the wayback, had a Door Ajar indicator on its digital dash. At least I think it did. I found this picture that confirms the 1990-95 Taurus digital dashes had Door Ajar indicators.

Velour was never all that common in the US for Mercedes, but I think the W126 S-Class may have had it at some point. Its last model year was 1991.

Somebody needs to start bringing back velour upholstery as a luxury option.
