all the stars here.

A perfect example of why “stroads” are bad.

The phone key is so good, it becomes your primary key. You don’t have to touch or open the phone, you just walk up to your car and open the door. The car unlocks when it connects to your phone over bluetooth. No internet required. However, you should also carry the keycard in your wallet as a backup, because if your

They weren’t locked out or unable to drive their car. No one bothers to do any research. They lost the ability to remotely preheat their car for a few hours. You can still drive the car using your phone key without any internet service. It runs on bluetooth.

Does anyone do any research anymore? If the internet connectivity goes down, you lose access to convenience features like preheating the car from your phone. You DO NOT lose the ability to drive the car. The connection between your phone key and the car is through BLUETOOTH and does not require internet service.

Yeah, user not paying attention. If you turn the wheel, you can take over easily. He wasn’t paying attention.

The cars don’t go into drive when a charge cable is plugged in.

Doubtful. There is some reduction in battery life, but it is still well over 200,000 miles. There’s a Tesla taxi service that only uses supercharging and drives their cars all day. They’ve put well over 200k miles on each car.

Again Apple making these things useless for anything stolen. Now thieves can just scan the thing they stole to confirm it doesn’t have an airtag on it. STUPID.

So far the data is that the batteries in Teslas will last between 300k and 500k miles. Far more than most cars are used for. And even then they can be pulled and used for other things because they will still have 80% of their original capacity.

Not the responsibility of individuals. Governments need to tax the rich and solve the problem.

same number of cells are needed for a regular model S. The battery isn’t any different for the plaid.

fair. I’m sure 116 mph comes up way faster than you expect with 1020 HP. 0-100 mph in this car is 4 seconds.

oy. bad information in the facebook posts, bad information in the article... yikes.

What’s wrong with ethanol? E85 is monster juice. 100+ octane, we made huge HP on it.

indeed. even better visibility in the Model 3 than the S.

The tetanus is free with the car.

Modern ICE vehicles also have electronic parking brakes, so this isn’t just an EV problem. It’s the same on ICE cars. Check out modern ICE cars. They use the same electronic parking brakes for whatever reason. You can’t disengage them without 12V power.

It’s much harder to have the car detect when it is ok to leave the traffic lane and pull to the side of the road. For now, I think that’s the only way it can bring the car to a stop safely.

The problem is range. Everyone wants more range. To deliver 300+ mile range, you need 800 - 1000 lbs of battery. When you have large batteries, HP is essentially free. The extra motor weight is nothing compared to the batteries.
