It’s hard to be consistent and always get the best times out of your car. The driver is doing something, especially when you have to shift.

I’m paying $1898 / mo for my Model 3. But it’s a 36 month loan at 0.65% interest. :-)

The computers use ~200W while the car is sitting idle in order to run the 8 cameras and process the images for Sentry mode. That all comes from the 12V battery, which then needs to be recharged periodically.

One correction. For the model 3 picture caption, the 12V AGM batteries don’t fail because they aren’t used to start an engine. They used to fail because they were charged and discharged multiple times per day because of the huge vampire draw while the car is parked. That has been improved in the Model 3 and Y, so now

Also, 1020 HP. Nothing unamerican about that.

You’re misinformed. Charging is already fast enough.

Will be a 2018 Tesla Model 3, in 13 years. Child and car will be the same age. :-)

There’s a software setting to tell it what % to stop at. By default it should charge to 90%, not 100%.

Down to $1000 now. But, yeah, you could still pay $5k for the feature and hardware outright, if you don’t want to subscribe.

But gasoline is so safe! Lithium ion batteries are dangerous.

But lithium ion fires are dangerous! Gasoline is so safe.

Good thing we have car dealers to protect us from factory owned stores!

Borrow a press model S, Model Y or Model X. Car camping with working AC all night is way more comfortable.

data subscription makes sense to support streaming, etc.

The point is you shouldn’t have to push 15 buttons to get in and drive your car. I’m baffled when I get in other electric cars and I have to turn a fucking key to the “start” position and then “on” to drive it. What the??? In a Tesla, I walk up and drive.  Regular car: unlock button (twice if passengers), insert key,

Well, this kind of proves how useless Ring cameras are. We got a nice picture of the criminals, but not enough detail to read their license plate....

It’s still the f’in fastest production car in the quarter mile and 0-60, regardless of the asterisks.... Who cares if they include 1ft rollout?

You really don’t need 500 mile range. Though, I think this version could make even more HP, but it is limited by the max output of the batteries, not the motor. The Plaid+ was going to increase the max output of the batteries to keep up with the motors. So, a bigger battery would help put out more power and charge

Actually, this makes sense if you have an inverter located near there to supply 120V power for the bed. Though, it makes less sense to power that inverter from the 12V than from the Li-ion HV battery.

The cubby next to the screen screams: “we intended to put a wider screen here, but then ran out of money.”
