If you don’t like autolock, turn it off. Then it won’t lock automatically. But, most of us prefer the convenience of autolock and autounlock.

Also, if you don’t like auto lock you can disable it in the lock menu. Then the car will lock and unlock completely manually like every other car. You can lock and unlock it using a key card, key fob, phone app, Apple watch, iPad app, smart ring, or whatever else you want. There are many options to lock and unlock the

What in the literal fuck is wrong with you not understanding how locks work?

Uh. what? This article should be “woman locks herself out of car with baby inside”. Unfortunate, yes. But, not a bug. I’ve locked myself out of cars before. Teslas have a lot of ways to get into the car before breaking a window. Call your spouse. If they have the app on their phone, they can unlock it remotely. Call

I have plenty of Tesla issues to complain about, but this isn’t one of them.

I have plenty of Tesla issues to complain about, but this isn’t one of them. How else should autolocking work? Your phone disconnects or goes out of range and the car locks. What else should the car do? Leave the car unlocked? Then autolock would never work. Her phone died or turned off. If you get out of the car and

Yes, there are two keycards included with every car.

They include keycards. I had keyfobs and keycards with my last Tesla. I never used the fobs. I always kept the keycard in my wallet and used it often. Also, the card is more reliable than a fob. It doesn’t require a battery.

This is why you keep the damn keycard in your wallet. If your phone dies, the keycard will let you in. But, no one reads instructions.

How about fixing the article to reflect what actually happened?

Holy crap. There’s a positive article about Tesla and the Cybertruck on Jalopnik?

I sure hope they can remove Elon from Tesla. Please fire him.

Yes, we all hate Elon Musk. Can we stop shitting on the cars all the time? The cars are just fine. Elon is an asshole.

Hopefully it triggers the button on the handle to stop charging before allowing you to eject the cable and drive away. Otherwise there’s a huge arc flash hazard....

Yes. And they removed all the ultrasound sensors in the cars a few years ago. However, they did upgrade all the cars to include high resolution radar. It’s not cameras only.

Agreed. Kick out Elon.

Valid. Vision only approach is dumb. But, pointing out that all new S/X cars are coming with high resolution radar now... It’s not vision only.

The company that achieved some of the highest crash test ratings ever tested on its four other vehicles is going to somehow forget how to do computational simulations of crashes? I have lots of stuff to crap on Tesla for, but crash testing is not one of them.

uhhh.... it’s going to crumple like everything else when it hits something.

I’m not sure why people assume that the cybertruck isn’t going to be safe, just because it is made of stainless steel. Thin stainless steel isn’t any stronger than regular steel. It’s actually somewhat weaker than regular steel. It’s going to deform in a crash like a normal car. All EVs do well in crash testing
