Yeah, this is terrible. Mining bitcoin is already unprofitable using regular electricity. If you include the cost of wear on a battery, plus the electricity, it’s really a huge money loser. 

I’m inclined to agree with you here. This is a stupid decision. But, I think their current radar is too crappy to provide much value. It has a lot of false positives that make the car slam on the brakes on the highway, because of any small piece of metal. The latest software builds are probably not using it very much…

I mean, shit, I don’t even know where the FM antenna is on my Tesla. I know we have FM radios... No AM, though. AM radio reception on electric vehicles is hard since the motor inverter puts out lots of noise in the same frequency range as AM radio. Sounds really cool , though!

Also, wtf. why would you charge 3x per day, on a normal day? Really unlikely unless you are traveling hundreds of miles.

Try riding a Sur Ron!

I’ve had one for over two years. The Sur Ron is a ton of fun. I have it registered on the road as a moped. Great for exploring local gravel roads, or throw it on a bike rack and bring it to the trails. I consistently get 30 mile range. 

HOly hell already. We’ve been through this. There’s no way the car was on autopilot and you know it. It would have been restricted to 30 mph, if it was. That isn’t a 30 mph crash. This is bad driving, that’s it. 

Except there is no way that car was using autopilot at the time of the crash. It would only be going 30 mph, and it wouldn’t be possible to engage it anyway since there are no lines on that road. Someone was driving and either ducked out after the crash or got thrown from their seat. 

Come on with the bullshit. there’s no way this crash happened on autopilot. Autopilot only allows 5 mph over the speed limit on local roads, so it could have only been going 30 mph. Clearly, it was going much faster than that. 

I mean, we have to have locking mechanisms because people are animals and will unplug your car randomly... 

Where are the modern ones?

Tesla Roadster... Had a baby and had to sell it... Hoping the new one will come along soon and will have a backseat for child seats. 

AWD with electric is simpler. Just have separate motors driving the front and back. Or in the case of the newer designs, two motors in the back, one for each wheel, and one in the front. Total flexibility and control with simple mechanical systems. 

Totally fine. It should be way more targeted. Send more money to people who are really suffering. No need to send it to people that are still fully employed and have absolutely no hardships. My parents received it, and nothing has changed in their pensions. They didn’t need it. Send 5x the money to 5x fewer people…

Why would anyone ever buy this? There’s nothing left. Total scrap.
