They are called “e-bikes”.

You missed the key point here. The extra weight doesn’t matter. Teslas are damn heavy and that doesn’t kill range. It’s the extra wind resistance that kills range in EVs.

Because labor is expensive, that’s why we don’t do this.... Think of the immense manual labor required!

Ok, so not just Tesla being weird. The aerodynamics really really matters...

Looks good? At least it looks like they did their homework and designed and priced everything to compete with the Tesla Model Y. Everyone else doesn’t seem to have bothered to meet or exceed Tesla’s specs and price...

I mean, this shit is hard? Give it time and we’ll see where it goes.

Drag. It’s a huge range killer in EVs. Could be 10%.

Yes, people are terrible. Why blame Tesla for people being stupid?

Agreed! It’s also knowing that the heat is essentially free in an ICE car, so why not?

Looks cool. I will definitely test drive one when it comes out.

I’ll just put this here:

The comparison should be with the Model 3 performance.

Model 3 performance with track mode would easily do it. I’ve run track hot laps for 22 miles without any thermal throttling.

You can take your hands off the wheel on autopilot for a considerable amount of time (60s or so, but varies depending on conditions) to change your music, etc.

You can drive anywhere in the US with a Tesla vehicle. They have blanketed the country with charging stations. And the Model 3 has over 300 mile range...

I’ve owned both the S and the 3. Once you get used to it, the layout in the 3 is way better. Not having a dash in front of you opens up the car and lets you see way more in front of you. Going back to the S feels claustrophobic. Moving your vision down and to the right takes exactly the same amount of time as moving

I did 20 minute sessions on the track, averaging 20 miles each. Never overheated while in track mode. 20 minutes in between of break, then right back out there. The track mode has serious cooling for the track.

STFU @iska2000 until you’ve driven a Tesla with autopilot. It does reduce your mental workload on long trips. You arrive much less tired. You can still focus on driving, but you don’t have to make constant steering corrections. Just like cruise control, but better.

Agreed! I own Sur Ron and it is awesome. I use it on road, but I’ve heard from others it is amazing off road.

Anyone who has charging anxiety hasn’t actually driven or owned an EV. It simply just isn’t a problem with the Model 3. You start every day with 300+ miles of range. You plug it in each night, like your cell phone. If for some reason you forget, it’s no big deal. You could probably go a week without charging, unless
