TMWTGG is just a Frankenstein's Monster of a movie. The core of a contract killer seemingly after Bond has so many parts bolted on to it: a forced-upon energy crisis B-plot, 'oh hey kung-fu films are popular now let's do that, too', 'racist J.W. Pepper and Wife in Thailand(?!)'.

Yeah, the casual misogyny in that film (and Live and Let Die) is inexplicable.

I always felt that Brosnan and Moore were partially-victimized by not being allowed to fully explore their strengths as Bond. Brosnan's Bond is incredibly fun and watchable when he's allowed to have fun (i.e. the "Backseat Driver" segment in TND) and not be a cold and nigh-emotionless super-agent. Imagine a Bond…
