Someone should follow up with her in a year to see what the real consequences of her article are.

i find these machine stories so interested, so im glad jezebel has been keeping up with them. someone on here had linked to an article from i think rolling stones from the mid 90s about the machine and greek life that is worth a read if you can find it.

Fellow alum, I’m so proud of her!! She’s a stellar representative for Alabama and the many, many progressive people in the state who want to help Alabamians achieve more.

Whenever I read about these student government House of Cards intrigues I realize that there’s a whole section of society who had a very different college experience than me. These are the kids that were 35 when they were 18 and definitely sent shirts to the dry cleaner IN COLLEGE.

The idea that they had a bunch of college students from out of town voting in an election for the school board makes my blood boil. That’s fucked up on an entirely different level.

Describing diversity and individuality to most Alabamians, even Alabamians in college, is like trying to describe the color blue to a dog.

From what I’ve seen so far, she has gotten a lot of support which I am very happy about. I hope her piece starts the conversation on changing or dismantling The Machine.

“I do hope he reconsiders leaving, because someone once told me divorce causes autism.”

It really shows how much the average person can see into the future, i.e. Not at all.

Oh, I was wrong: someone went with the “terrorism” angle first.

As an Oklahoman, I can assure you all that my fellow residents are working tirelessly at this very moment to tie this into a defense of gun owners’ rights.

It’s worth $12-15 of my money and 2-3 hours of my time to find out, and they would really, really have to fuck up to create a worse movie than Attack of the Clones.

This is fucking stupid.

I agree. I have issues up the wazoo with my mother (and can actually relate to the dual personalities) but also, sometimes parents put on a brave face bc they don’t want the world to know their issues. Sometimes if you’ve fucked up as a kid they will be nice to you in front of others and then give you a piece of mind

I’m sure a lot of people who have a hate-on for Rosie O’Donnell will completely ignore the fact that this is coming from a teenager with a serious mental illness.

my wife and i got our first tatoos on August 1st “Always & Forever” with our aniversary date of 8 years...getting a divorce 2 months later

My co-worker wanted to get a tattoo of her cat. Her husband wanted her to get a tattoo of his name. She made an unfortunate compromise:

Not mine, but a guy I went to high school with (actually, he was the quarterback of our football team) got a tattoo across the top of his chest in someone’s garage. It was supposed to say “Jesus Christ,” but he got it done in someone’s garage, so it said “Jesus Crist.”

I have 5 tattoos, 3 on my forearms and 2 on my legs. As i got them when I was 18-20 (10 years ago and while in the military), needless to say, these tattoos no longer reflect who I am or how I think. Today, I am almost always forced to wear long sleeves and jeans as to avoid embarrassment.

Two years ago my friends and I went to Austin, Tx for my birthday. We started barhopping as one is wont to do and found a place with $1 Boone’s farm shots, At those prices it would have been fiscally irresponsible not to indulge after that point I don’t remember what happened.
