Actually though Spider-man: Homecoming was a lot of fun. Holland is easily able to expand his excitable Civil War performance with enough notes to shoulder the film's drama and comedy, and he's surrounded by a fantastic ensemble. (Donglover supporting role in Miles Morales movie hyyyype!) The movie takes great delight

Good to see they haven't excised the 'kidnapping the President' plotline.

I really want to see Gore Verbinski direct a Spider-man movie just for the action sequences.

It's unclear whether it will still work after the Kinjapocalypse.

I mean, we see him fall five stories onto an exploding car with his body engulfed in flames. Unless the whole Michael Myers mask bit was actually foreshadowing he can't come back.

Okja is such a weird movie. It's lovely in many ways and Okja is a great achievement as a digital character, but its satire is muddled to the point of incoherence. People are bagging on Jake Gyllenhaal's performance but I kinda loved it? It's so ridiculous that I think it serves to remind you that oh yeah this is a

It really wouldn't work at all. The whole supporting cast is dead and Baby has no reason to join up with another crime outfit. There's no way to get around that.

Happy 4th of July to my fellow American CZers. I for one intend to eat a few hot dogs, drink a few ciders, set off a few firecrackers, eat a few firecracker Oreos, and contemplate the inherent instability of all political systems once they exceed two centuries in age.

I went to Baby Driver as well and really enjoyed it. I was going to write a standalone post here several times but each time I couldn't think of anything worthwhile to say that hadn't already been said. It's just a really well-constructed crime movie with killer chase scenes. There's not much to say beyond that.

Yes on the microphone (I'll have to dig it up though, NBC Voiceover Guy's been retired for a while) and I'm fine with those nights. I like to watch American Ninja Warrior on Mondays but I'm not super duper attached to it.
