That's true. I'm not even sure how we would do flops without budgets. Let's stick with profits and figure out how to handle missing budgets if it comes up.

Not necessarily, but I don't think it'll be a problem either way.

I suppose it wouldn't change too much. Including budget incentivizes picking less expensive hits-to-be like Despicable Me 3, while something like Justice League or even Star Wars becomes much more attractive if we're just going by gross alone. But I don't think it will radically alter the validity of anyone's picks.

In addition to the people already in slack, Stingo, Roobles, and Eric have expressed interest.

Yeah this could be a problem but I'm hoping we can have budgets for most films sourced from one of those two sources by the time a given film releases. If we can't find an official figure I'll try to track down a reasonable sounding rumor and we'll put it to a vote. If everyone agrees it seems like a reasonable figure

Cool, let's say 9 then.

It's hard to believe but I'm almost to the end of MST3K's original run. I watched 1007 Track of the Moon Beast after midnight on NYE. I'll have to try that stew recipe, featuring beans; corn; onions; chicken; green peppers…

I took a guess

is it actually "accont" or is it "account"?

The real one, duh.

Sure, but it'll require a little work on your part. Join the slack and DM me a ranked list of your top 40 or so picks (remember that the only criterion for this draft is profitability) plus a list of 7 or 8 you think will be flops, also ranked. Then when it's your turn I'll give you your highest-ranked film that is

Correct. Plus we'll do a flop pick where that is reversed.

Sherrinford :O

I rung in 2017 by building Lego sets, watching MST3K, and drinking. So mostly the same as 2016, except now with drinking. (Spiced rum and coke is so teeth-rotting good)

Sounds like Star Trek would be a better fit for Stellaris' framework.

They're just giving the people what they want. And what the people want is stale culinary memes from 2011, I guess.

Probably the most egregious one I've seen recently is the finale to CSI: Cyber, which was clearly shot after they realized they were gonna be cancelled and thus had to resolve the pseudo-cliffhangers that had happened five minutes earlier, rendering them ridiculous(er).
