I feel you - I inexplicably hate the receptionist at work who greets everyone with a fraction of that energy, simply because I will never be able to generate it :D

Leslie Knope, is that you?
Jonathan gave her his heart, and Nancy gave him a pen.
what annoys me is that the US far outpaces ALL countries when it comes to consumption & CO2 emissions. Yet say if we all followed some rule to stay at or below replacement level (2.1 children on average, per woman), the US would barely be affected - it’s already below that. Most WHITE-majority countries would not be…
Any time this site entertains the perspective of the extreme left-wing it’s a WILD ride.
I totally agree - expand peoples’ definition of what a family is, and be accepting of families in all forms, but this viewpoint, where families are only a source of negativity, is bizarre. People are social animals who thrive in supportive environments. I don’t get this at all.
We’re barely at the point wherein people are accepting tomatoes are a fruit. Seems like a lot of pressure to put on Rekognition.
While I’m sure that many of these parents do worry about the children’s health, I think a lot of the stigma against autism comes from the fact that a lot of people view their children as status symbols. They don’t want a “broken” child because it reflects badly on them.
This is know different that any other conspiracy theories in that its all born out of fear. Some people refuse to believe that some seemingly random shit can happen because they cannot live with that fear.
The sheltered, decadent lives we live promotes this kind of ignorance, and allows us to fall victim to manipulation.
Right, this quote
Oh hell yeah. That’s dangerous as hell (as is the weird connection of suffering and creativity). People who create utopian visions of life without medical choices really don’t remember, or care, about the millennia of suffering that preceded these choices. People weren’t happier before modern medicine—they were…
I’ve been on some form of the pill for close to thirty years now, so I’m going to counter anecdata with anecdata ;-). I love the damn thing. After going on the pill, my PMS symptoms lessened, my migraines were more controllable, and, oh yeah, I could almost completely dismiss the worry about getting pregnant thanks to…
Honestly, I feel the opposite? I feel more color to my world when I’m on birth control than off. I take it bc I have heavy painful periods and reduce the amount I have. My periods take a lot out of me so reducing them has made a big improvement
You know what else will change the “color” of your world? Having a kid you didn’t want.
Maybe I was just in a bad mood when I watched this, but I did not see the chemistry or really understand why Wong and Park’s characters wanted to get together. I really liked the story of their childhood and early friendship.
Crafty, stubborn, and savage af.
“Acupuncture was poo-poo’d for so long, so was reiki,” she said. “So was hypnosis, and now you’re seeing them become more standard in hospitals.”
I have this dream that for some reason I’m invited on the view and I act oblivious to Meghan, like I don’t know who she is, and play dumb when she inevitably brings up John. Because of course she will, when hasn’t she in any given context? I respond with a casual “oh, your dad died? sorry to hear” as if I’m really…
But her character had the worst character development of all of them! I love Buffy, I love Willow, but whatever-her-name-was developed into an awful person on HIMYM. She started out quite normal and then became The Worst
