Worth mentioning is that Mercedes *INSTRUCTED* Bottas to drop back to fifth after plowing into the side of Ricciardo.
Plus, a straight 6 sounds better than a cross-plane 90 degree V8, so there's that too.

One slightly sobering remark: the only reason they were able to beat the 35+ year standing record is that the few F1 cars that lapped the Nordschleife were doing that demo mode, not in full-on track attack mode.
Our customer is the worlds largest supplier of valves and regulators, and we supply them. They have very specific material demands and their preferred source of material is based in... Italy.

That, implicitly, assumes an internal combustion engine which does not provide a truly massive amount of torque from 0 rpm and needs a gearbox with different ratios to keep the engine in the right rpm band.
