I'm thoroughly satisfied with my Steam experience, but this looks sexy as hell.
I'm thoroughly satisfied with my Steam experience, but this looks sexy as hell.
Steam doesn't offer much in comparison to what? Better prices? So price is everything? Didn't you just count all the important features Steam is good at? It's a gaming/distributing platform with a solid community. Forums, game guides, marketplace, deals, actually playable games I don't know what else you want and what…
This occurred to me as well. It's suspicious that they have these claims right after Oculus got a lot of money. I don't want to be judgmental, but their press release reeks of "We want a slice from that too! Because we know the guy who brought the cake".
My thoughts on this, is that if you value your employee, He/She won't leave. If that happens, it happens for a reason, and you can't do much about it as an employer.
This should be all over the internet. Yes, I heard about the case. It is really a sad thing.
I watched all 3 Mass Effect longplays like 3 times now, played the games also. Watched Uncharted longplays, all of them. Watched the Last of Us longplay twice. Why? Read along..
I'm not on the platform but downloading an app requires an ID or something, not? And for an ID you need to register, providing your age. This all seems so stupid because they already have the information to control who can download what based on their age. But they just don't care about it and stick to their rules..
This whole article invalidates itself by providing pictures. Not to mention every paragraph is invalidated by user comments. I assume you are not a user experience engineer. I also assume you are a fan of the app store. You sound like the app store's layout and functionality just brainwashed you.
Thank you! I hope people will appreciate detailed information like what you linked.
One notable dissenter is Michael Thomsen, who, writing for Forbes, posits the question: "Is Dark Souls II The Worst Game Ever Made?" Those familiar with the game and its community might immediately take such a headline as half-serious hyperbole—and of course, fans in forum threads around the internet have been quick…
and more importantly, does the game actually worth that money? people make crappy mobile "games" every minute.
Big Japanese game publishers have long had a tendency to put most of their energy into the domestic audience; English localization has at best been an afterthought, a secondary objective to be handled once the bulk of a development team has moved onto new things. Because of this mentality, many Japanese RPGs—a genre…
While those are nice words to hear from the guy who runs one of Japan's most influential video game companies, they're also rather baffling. Did it really take him this long to notice how many JRPG fans live in the United States and Europe? Do companies like Square Enix really not pay any attention to the critical and…
not to mention it's becoming an apparent trend that those who focus too much on aesthetics tend to forget about gameplay. with all that fancy physics all they can come up with is another shooter... that's why indie games are gaining a lot of traction these days. there's a limit to how you can impress people with only…
I'm voting on the clickbait. It's a Kotaku classic.
Games should be easy to get into, I agree with that. But I meant exactly that difficulty tiers are a good way to provide challenge for every kind of player.
I'm nowhere near an elite player. Sadly I have so little time to play. So I wouldn't call myself that. But as I wrote in other responses to the folks here: I'm afraid that games these days will become too casual, too easy to pick up. To cater to a wider audience, for profit..I don't know, I like how more and more…
Nope, I really haven't played Titanfall yet. The reason thou why I gave voice to my concern, is that I see this trend in games where the game essentially plays instead of you. Like quick time events, "hidden treasures" marked on the minimap, constant popups "hinting" you where to go and what to do. And if people get…
Yes, that noob friendly was a bad call.
Yes, well as in noob friendly, I mean easy to get into. Too easy. At the cost of depth/immersive/competitive gameplay. My only concern is that those big companies who are eager to make money will shift dangerously towards casual. A game can be rewarding for a beginner and someone who seeks challenge too. I just…
