A parenting practice which is rather ironically satired in GTAV!
Wait are you just saying he should have basically this, plus some restricted Internet access, or that the sentence should be longer than one year (which would mean he'd have to go to a state prison)? The former sounds reasonable enough, but the latter is maybe a bit harsh.
"You can defend someone to the fullest extent that the law and ethics permit and not engage in character assassination."
I think this is basically just flat out untrue. If that's the only defense they can make, what else are they supposed to say? You could imagine changing the law or society so that such defenses were…
I don't see what you're conflicted about. Yes, most people brought to trial will be guilty, but they still need a defense. This is true generally, not just of sexual assault. And as long as 'character assassination' type defenses remain legal and effective, the defense is pretty much obligated to use them.
This seems to be hinting that there just shouldn't be defense attorneys, or at least that defense attorneys should be allowed to not try very hard when they think their client is guilty. But I mean, the system kind of requires both of these things. What are you imagining might be done instead?
Also, couldn't your…
I know right. We probably just shouldn't have defense attorneys.
You read the part where the harassers were literally children right? Not that calling their moms was a bad idea - I think it's great - but you characterization seems a little weird.

It's of course no surprise that he doesn't hear catcalling as much as a woman would, but it is a bit odd he's never heard it even once.

Necropost, but I think the idea is that this wouldn't be true in the future
Paragraph 2 seems to be literally complaining that the Pope is Catholic
wut
But that's just... not what they do. It's like complaining McDonalds doesn't sell dog food
relax you're fine
It likely shows them consenting to some stuff. It's not proof at all, but this guy is a few abs short of a patrick swayze
I agree it probably has a camera in it. But is it in the front (and he turns it around when he does something incriminating) or the back (and he turns it around when he does something he wants to watch later)?
Rumour is the "jilted ex-lover" got hold of one of the videos and that's what got him scared. Look at the date…
I thought he was pretty famous. Like he's in "that name sounds kind of familiar" territory for most people, and "oh, yeah, Jian Ghomeshi, sure" for anyone into the Canadian music scene or anyone who listens to the CBC regularly. I certainly knew he he was, and I'm not that into music really (but I do live in Toronto).
