Well, no sane person who actually read this profile would message her, so I think what she's essentially done is screen exclusively for "hey ur pretty" and dick pics

My guess is they probably are

What? Are you saying you would prefer a world in which STI testing didn't exist, because then you couldn't have been lied to? It's not like men being able to temporarily sterilize themselves means that women wouldn't be able to also do so...

Re: LTRs. You're worried that people will tell their partners they want to try

The actual injection is mildly icky, but it's very short and honestly I think guys would put up with it. It's very strongly in their interests.

It was almost certainly some intern

But the nature of Reddit is that subreddits need have almost no connection to each other. They're created, viewed, and moderated by completely different people. It's like saying that you refuse to read billboards because one time you saw a racist ad. So I suggest the following easily implemented "line in the sand":

It's just linked

Well, reddit wasn't posting the photos directly - they were providing a forum where anything, including such photos, could be posted. I So whatever you think of their responsibilities, it isn't really like a pawn shop.

They also were taking down the photos as quickly as their staffing allowed, if their statement is to

She was raped because she said no and then was penetrated, not because of the buzz

Absolutely. The point isn't that men have it as bad as women do - that would be absurd. Nevertheless, Gawker calling out Reddit is a bit hypocritical.

That's not really fair. Certainly parts of Reddit are like that. But it's a huge collection of spaces with little cohesion; even less so than Gawker. There are feminist parts too, although less so than here.

On the other hand, you've given a pretty good description of 4chan.

Hooooo boy was that ever the wrong thing to say

Honestly I think you're going a bit too far in the other direction. Would it be censorship if I did, say, a DDoS attack on any website hosting a Lindy West article, so that noone could read what she wrote? I think it would be, even though it wouldn't require government power.

Here's what definitely isn't censorship:

Well, no I don't think that's true. Of course the American Constitutional right to free speech means only one thing. But the concept is also commonly understood as a cultural imperative, which is much hazier.

When most people say "free speech" I think they're referring more to the attitude that allowing ideas to be heard is important than to the letter-of-the-law as you're describing.

It's 4chan not Reddit

Same basic idea though yeah

He might get flirted with a little bit. He almost certainly doesn't get hit on so often he'll experience it as harassment, so worst case scenario he gets a slight ego boost - he'd have to work at it a bit to actually be 'wooed'. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I'm a man, and like you it happens also about once a semester for me too. Probably unlike you, though, these are close to the only times ever when I'm almost positive I'm being openly hit on. I've always figured it was a grades thing yeah.

Also! On multiple occasions female students have come to my office hour and

It was from a student newspaper, and undergrads themselves do say it.

What's a fur baby?
