If only to put it away in the first place. Hell, my DNA is probably on every utensil in our kitchen, because I'm the one who empties the dishwasher.

"I never made the decision to transition," says Arin, succinctly and poignantly. "I made the decision to be happy."

Trans people are routinely subjected to questions that are inappropriately intimate about personal details of their transition - you can see several discussions of this right here in the comments about Kyosuke. For many trans people their circumstances are hugely emotional and hard to discuss because of the hostility

Agreed. There was a case of this happening in Indianapolis several years back. Apparently the cop did this regularly, and eventually ran across a woman whose circumstances were such that she wasn't afraid of being arrested on the warrant, so she said "go ahead and arrest me" and then she pursued charges against him

Wow. Thankfully she does had a line connected to the rope so if she falls, there is some hope of her not being killed, although so much could go wrong.

And here's the thing - if you really are keen on knowing what trans folks are going through, then let your fingers do the walking rather than asking someone. It's not any trans person's responsibility to educate you, and their personal journey is personal to them.

I do know someone who has had that particular surgery, but I have no idea when they had it in their process. They did choose it but rejected vaginoplasty, however. People's journeys are their own, and there really is no set of "steps" that must be undertaken in the proper order.

The "source" has to be purely made up bull, because any doctor performing a vaginoplasty would never describe it that way in the first place. That's clearly the language of someone who doesn't understand trans related surgeries and is just making shit up.

Given that Kris appears to be publicly defending Bruce on this issue, I think that's some unfair speculation.

Oh yay, oh yay. So glad to see you as a voice for Jezebel on trans issues.

My favorite abortion tv plot line is the one where she decides not to have one and then has a miscarriage.

Wait a second, though I'm also trans, and I understood what trashybearRAWR was saying here - I am also non-op, but there was definitely a pivot point at which I "transitioned" - name & identity change, hormones, wardrobe etc. It didn't happen all at once, but there's a definite difference between "then" and "now."

Oh we can, and we love you for it. :)

There is a weird imbalance between what she's wearing and what he is that's a problem for me. It's fine if she's dressed sexy! but he should be too! or it's just about the male gaze and being sexy for his benefit.

Okay, but I can't with the disparity between what she's wearing and what he's wearing. It makes it look like there is a power imbalance there. I'm cool with what she's wearing, but he should be wearing something as revealing/sexual as she is.

She played basketball in high school. Or do you thing girls don't play sports for some reason?

Ooh, yay - adding to my collection of magic crotch images!

I love fan fiction. I write a lot of fan fiction. Like, a lot. Since before there was an internet. Like, posted on UUCP and later usenet. All of it fem slash. And on behalf of all of us who write and read fan fiction...

Some women have a lot harder time than others for who knows what reason. For me it's just a pain in the neck, where others have a really difficult time. Hopefully your daughter will be in my camp.

Ok, where do you get that bear costume? The only bear costumes I can find for sale are cheesy crap.
