Given the vast majority of people will never interact with either of those organizations, and don’t actually understand what either does...it would be an uphill battle to get people to pay attention to it.

The Coast Guard also monitors boaters to make sure they’re not violating the marine mammal act or driving their boats drunk; they do ocean rescues and lots and more. This move will cost lives, both human and animal.
