Exactly—-getting talented black women in front of the camera will never be a sufficient solution until there are talented black women in the writers' room as well. Aren't most of the not-on-camera writers white men, or did I misremember that?

I missed the cold open and everyone is talking about how good it was. Rats!
You obviously didn't watch the show. Watch the sketches in question, then comment.
Ya know what? I am thinking that maybe it is a blessing from God that this stupid show does not have any black women as cast members. I would pity them horribly for the tacky, insulting sketches that they would have to do and i cannot imagine that they would have the same power of input as their white, male…
"I'm havin' a RAW-ASS TIME with my husband!" Aidy Bryant is delightful.
"Whenever I see something that upsets people, I make it mine," hahahaha
I'm sitting here like "they really don't know how to write for people of color". All of her sketches are racially coded. Like I have no problem with highlighting race but why can't she play a funny sketch that's non-stereotypical, hell even non-racially coded?
"I am someone from E News."
"he forgot about the cloud, and the cloud is all full of butts."
Oh gurrl, Kerry Washington totally pregnant.
I hope Kerry Washington does a sketch as Julianne Hough.
GREAT JOB TODAY, BURT!
I was hoping there would be a chance to discuss this!! I watched it this morning and kept thinking WHENWHENWHENWHEN can we talk about it?
SO EPIC! I feel as if Colbert's antics at one point undermined Jon's performance, and he seems to be changing the show up to be EVEN MORE AWESOME! Ohhh Jon, how great you are. Love…
I accidentally wiped Egg McMuffin grease in my eye while watching this. My friend saw me crying and looked over to see what I was watching. She hit replay and watched it 4 times before telling me that wasn't a real gospel choir and there was no reason for me to get all choked up about it.
I said literally the same thing.
I couldn't make it past Jay Manuel's thighs. My. God.
Also, Melissa and Sandy trick or treated together.
I like them. Mom seems like she is doing everything right, as far as reality celebrity goes. She is saving money, living within their means. They are supportive of each other and kind about each other. They seem like a stable and solid family. And the self-esteem the girls display is damn inspiring.
OMG Honey Boo Boo as Kris Jenner. Perfect.
Honey Boo Boo family as the Kardashians is the mostly enjoyably meta thing I've seen in a while.
