I get the criticism but this is very much to me - and I hate to use a now very overused term - a game that’s all about the vibes. It’s nothing groundbreaking but it’s fun enough and the elements just gel together in such a way to make it a very relaxing, enjoyable experience to me.

There’s clearly a deliberate attempt to make players see these monsters and associate them with Pokemon, and a lot of the designs have obvious similarities - even moreso than other Pokemon-likes. But claiming one creature is clearly a rip-off of another because of one or two design similarities - plant dinosaurs with

Yeah, it really does add some nice features to survival games, having the Pals do so much work at the base. It took me all weekend to realize I should just build storage boxes near my stone and wood farms so I could just pick up the 2500 wood the Pals generate and place it directly in a storage box.

I saw someone make an excellent point that the fundamental issue with the AI generated dialogue is that it lacks intent. Like an author when writing those kinds of scenes has a sense of context and how those interactions are supposed to contribute to the larger whole, even more so if the NPC has meaning for the plot.

That is both hilarious and awesome! I honest wish more writers would just come right out and say that.

Ah yes, I tried to shoehorn in a different context that is explicitly the content of the article you commented on. My bad for reading the article.

That’s not what happened here, this isn’t a third party exclusivity deal. MS spent 7.5 billion to make this acquisition and they’re leaving money on the table by keeping it of a platform with an additional 40 million or whatever install base.

Yay someone validated your preconceived notions

I agree wholeheartedly. Many people seem to disregard Skyrim for reasons similar to this game, which is utterly baffling. Skyrim, to me, has always been a better exploration game than a RPG. The world is crampacked with all sorts of little stories and things to experience, and that the derivement of enjoyment of that

So the article was also written by AI?

There’s been this weird, faintly desperate trend to rehabilitate MEA’s reputation—and I understand it probably runs better now on PC than it does on my PS4—but the game is just bad. It’s full of interesting ideas executed astonishingly poorly, wretched QoL problems that were easy fixes[1], and a lack of any sense of

Imagine the concept of some people having fun differently than you do, and not being a douche about it
