Not entirely wrong still dude. French is my second language. For instance, a golden shower is “douche dorée” in French. Which is literally golden shower.

If you were to say “gasoline shower” it would be “douche d’essence”.

Yeah I don't like the guy in the car very much. I see no problem with the drivers license and insurance check. That is fine, you need both to operate a car. I think these checkpoints are usually up when there is an escaped prisoner, but I might be wrong, but I think I've seen one in my city before.
