Some plot and character missteps in the second one but this franchise and John Wick are the only games in town for kinetic, brutal, inventive action sequences. Marvel has never topped the elevator fight in Winter Soldier whereas an encounter like that happens 5-6 times in a Kingsman flick.

The train chase is dope, to be sure, but the escape from the studio into the helicopter rescue/dogfight is the best setpiece in the film.

I mean, yeah, the people telling the story can tell it however they want to. But in a story about family/death/remembrance/connection, it seemed pretty obvious to me (an adult viewer watching a film for children – I realize this) that Hector would be more important to the story than simply being a guide.

It may not have been the total amount of checkins/buttons/endings, but how they were presented. The audience is conditioned to expect credits after a moment of finality and a fade to black. Perhaps if they could have been time dissolves vs fades to black this wouldn’t be a common joke.

Totally. It seems like that was only included to make it plausible that humans and dinosaurs could coexist. This is a cognitive leap I’m very comfortable making without explanation in the context of a film for children.

I remember the teaser with the meteor missing earth coming out way before the actual film. I believe there were behind-the-scenes problems (including the near-complete replacing of the voice cast) in addition to the story never really amounting to much. I’d guess they realized they had a mess on their hands so didn’t…

Echoing a few other commenters: I don’t have a PS4 so no TLoU for me. I did download D00m (2016) since it was on super-sale now that the sequel is out. I like how the glory kill system rewards my very first FPS strategy, developed when I was like 11: run up as close to the monster as possible so you can’t miss.
