It’s not pay though, you’re selling them something. When you go to a store do you ask how many hours it took to make the shirt you’re buying? That’s the difference between an employee and a freelancer.

Why would any business allow people to work whatever overtime they want? It’s totally reasonable to tell people they need to be done at 40 hours or talk to their sup about what still needs to be done.
right.. it doesn’t feel like our job (or the government’s job) to take this choice away from people.
To be perfectly honest, I spent 2 years working myself to death in an entry level job. No social life, no dates, nothing but work. Now I make a lot of money and have the job of my dreams. I wouldn’t trade those years for anything. I definitely think we should pay people living wages and not force people to work 60…

I don’t think it’s a ‘40-hour a week salary’ everyone i know there makes a shit ton more than comprable positions elsewhere.
I mean.... have you seen some customers? they hear ‘the customer is always right’ and think ‘finally the attention i should be getting from therapy’. This was never a good biz model.

She got into one of those “executive in training” programs where it was basically an apprenticeship to management for a retail store. Retail hours but corporate position and i think she got 50k out of the gate.
Right, but what I am saying is this does not fix the teacher problem. Teachers have loans and are priced out of the ‘affordable’ units.
