I’ve never once had a “tweaker” pump my gas in NJ.  I’ve had old men, Indians, Kazhaks - but never anyone who did anything truly bad, except for topping off my damned tank even after I’ve explicitly told them not to.

I had a Dodge Omni that had the Audi/VW logo on the engine block. I was so surprised to see it - I considered that maybe the previous owner had done an engine transplant somehow. (Now all these years later I know the story, thanks to the internet.)

That’s AMC for you. And those cars felt and drove exactly that way to me - like a bunch of parts that didn’t quite match.  

Yes - also, I finally got around to driving one recently. I hadn’t thought about them much, but figured they must be pretty good considering how many there are. I was surprised to find that it was generally awful to drive.
