I can highly recommend google hangouts, it does it's job on both wifi and cellular networks as needed.

Note, the Most Recent is not persistent, you will have to do this every.... single... time the app refreshes.

True true, but I was using Win8 in a VM, so all of the hot corners and shortcuts didn't work.

But they had to bring minimal menu back in 8.1 and the original Win8 didn't have that...

I told Microsoft's Scott Goble that Windows 8 needed to keep the start menu. LookyLoo!

For configuration and administration from an IT standpoint, there's not much that can beat the start menu for the power of all of the shortcuts stored inside. System administration needs that quick access to control panel/Management/System etc.

True, but if you saw the state of my city, you'd see it's the land of speeding people that run red lights, weave through traffic and don't know how to use turn signals...
