I got Bush too but Trump’s popularity absolutely confounds me. He just seems like an enormous shitstain of a human that you wouldn’t even want to talk to at a party let alone elect as leader of the free world.

I get why they were offended but the super intense overreaction is hilarious to me. It’s probably emblematic of some deep-seated cultural difference we don’t understand, but without that nuance it just looks like China is Australia’s deranged ex boyfriend.
Yeah, he sounds like a peach.
I am also unsportsmanlike
Knew it.
Let’s be real, it's tennis, someone will definitely scream at a ball boy eventually.
I hope the screening is produced by the Real Housewives team because that would be some amazing television
These Olympics are great, they should be aired on Bravo.
I agree, especially if you're in the type of family where everybody refuses to discuss it even amongst yourselves.
That’s a really interesting question, I’ve never really considered it before.
Absolutely, but we were discussing our gut responses. My gut can be – and frequently is – wrong.
One of the problems with widely acknowledging suicide is that suicide is actually somewhat contagious, so giving it news coverage and mentioning it in obituaries in the wrong way can actually lead to a spike in the suicide rate. While I agree with you that it would be good if we could discuss it more to combat mental…
I agree, particularly given that somebody called the cops after the mother missed a single lunch. I think that indicates a level of preexisting concern about the family.
I think when you know all your old Degrassi episodes are out there anyway you just have to lean into it
I agree. You still see this trope a lot in Asian media.
Yes. Don't get me wrong, I totally believe that Marvel is capable of that. They just haven't needed to for a long, long time.
They’re now apparently petitioning to have Rotten Tomatoes shut down so it’s apparently not just Gawker Media that is overrun, they’re freaking out all over town.
I was surprised by the volume and hostility of the defensiveness too. Not sure what their problem is given that from what I’ve seen most of the Jez / GM were planning to see this and only side-eyeing Jared Leto’s thirst. Hell I’ll probably still see this despite the shitty reviews, because of Viola, Margo, and Will…
Plus the characters of Magic Mike aren't objectified. They have individual personalities, motivations, and interior lives. Sexualised does not equal objectified. If you made a genderswapped version of Magic Mike I would still consider that capable of being a feminist film.
