This is why Google’s call screening for unknown numbers is so awsome. I don’t have to deal with telemarketers.

WTF is the deal with knowing in advance? There are very, very, VERY few surprises in life guaranteed to be good - finding out the sex of your child at birth is one of them. Hell, maybe the ONLY one.

My wife and I briefly thought about having a gender reveal party where the inside of the cake would be rainbow and we’d announce the gender by saying “WHO THE FUCK CARES, HONESTLY?!” but then the pandemic happened and also even that kind of gender reveal party is a stupid waste of money, so...

Why are people so obsessed with revealing which genitals their child has, and doing so in such spectacular fashion, anyway? Why is this a thing?

Now playing

I miss the days when Gender Reveal Parties were in the hospital.

I really can’t believe how unbelievably stupid these have gotten (and mostly were from the beginning). People trying to one up strangers on the internet for quite literally pointless likes/hearts/stars.

It is. All the other presidents put chairs at the sides of the desk, but Trump puts it in front. It’s very antagonistic.

I kept coming back to, this is only happening a few weeks after the blip. Sure, Wanda’s dealing with a lot of loss, but half the people in that town had someone disappear, reappear five years later, and just as they’re adjusting to that, well, shit, I guess we’re all being mind controlled now.

Everyone: “Agatha’s not evil! Agatha’s not evil! Agatha’s not evil!”

Isn’t “for the children” just a sitcom trope. Isn’t it just the generic stand-in for charity work. “The ladies committee is putting on a talent show for the children” feels very ‘60's sitcom to me.

A few random thoughts:
* Oh, are we mad that the fifth male lead of the fourth-best movie in a franchise where 11 movies total didn’t make what Endgame/Infinity War/Black Panther made was underused? Puh-leaze. Peters’ Quicksilver was fun and had two good scenes, but he wasn’t the cosmos.

* Notice how all the clamoring

A few things:

Vision and Vision having a rhetorical showdown after their physical one was welcome. I loathe a lot about Age of Ultron, but I have always liked Vision and Ultron’s conversation. Excited to see what they do with the Vision now.

Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) didn’t swoop in to save the day, either. This was Wanda’s victory. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer and director Matt Shakman deserve credit for never losing sight of whose story this actually was. It’s been a hell of a ride, and I’ve enjoyed every minute.

I think the biggest shocker for me in this episode is how well they pulled off the Scarlet Witch costume. Not cheesy or exploitative, but still hot as hell. (Pun semi-intended)

I thought it was an appropriate punishment for Agatha, and I’m very glad we’re likely to see Kathryn Hahn again.

If you have a bunch of small 401ks from past jobs they really should be consolidated. Compound interest and all that.

Phrasing it as “3x your salary” is a very ham-fisted way of going about it. What you really need is 25x your expenses by the time you retire. This is the standard “FIRE” formula that lets you withdraw 4% of your portfolio almost perpetually (subject to sequence of returns risk).

also kind of sick of people saying how Borat is anti-immigrant. He’s just leaning into how anti-immigrant Americans really are and how they really believed that the Kazakhstan Borat represented was real.

I’d go just for the Running of the American.
