The biggest problem I have with creating a personal portfolio is that my code is owned lock, stock and barrel by the company and source code is considered Confidential with a capital "C".
The Google part is definitely true, but there are a lot of offline things possible with a Chromebook these days - editing files, watching movies, managing email, writing and testing code (with Chrome Development Editor, among others) to name a few. Honestly, the need for an internet connection is about the same…
If your life is in the Googleverse, you might want to check out the excellent extensions from Jason Savard: CheckerPlus for Gmail, CheckerPlus for Google Calendar, CheckerPlus for Google Drive.
I just use Google Maps for this. I generally download any city I'm going to be in. (Search icon, scroll to the bottom, click offline maps).
Depends on the model. Not sure which one mine is but it came with lifetime updates.
I would say my smartphone but ever since Verizon FINALLY allowed the KitKat update to S3, my phone randomly switches off the GPS navigation when the phone gets "too hot". My husband's MotoX (on TMobile) can be on for the exact period of time in navigation, navigating the same roads, and barely gets warm. Just…
The only reasons I would want to know about heinous, historical crimes committed in my house would be (a) to know whether or not the resale value could take a serious hit or (b) if there's a likelihood that I'm likely to accidentally uncover any bodies in the course of using the house, cos I don't want to deal with…
I hadn't seen those yet. Very clever. Though, one reason I really like my beanbag mount is that it is on the dash so I don't have to take my eyes as far off the road as I do with grill mounts. Is there any way to articulate the phone itself higher up with this cd mount?

I think rooting has gone from almost necessary to maybe a nice way to boost your phone with some extra features if you want to.
Not really a destination, more a way to discover some destinations.
Too funny. I came to say exactly this. The Thousand Island region in New York is also beautiful.
Not so easy to remount when it fails at 65mph on the highway and flies through your car.

The way I read this, if Aereo hadn't charged for the service, they'd probably be okay.
I'm happy to have the old built-in AM/FM, and plug in my $35 bluetooth controller with for the rest. I hold down the close-to-steering wheel dash mounted tactile button for Google Voice Search for everything else. ("Navigate home", "Play music by the Rolling Stones", "What song is this?") Works great. That same…
It is up to the application itself to subscribe to the intent. So if it doesn't work with Spotify, it's a Spotify problem. For me, I have TuneIn, Google Play, YouTube, and Amazon Music. All come up except for Amazon, who hasn't gotten with the program yet.
This is exactly what I want too. It's similar to the look I've come back to on all my Android devices Minimal screen with a maybe an unadorned digital clock, a search bar and hideable dock that gets me to my most used apps, plus an apps icon to show me the rest.
Not widespread on stock images but sometimes on systems that have been flashed with a non-standard ROM.
Many, many years ago when I lived in New Jersey, there was a motel right off of I-495 near the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, I used to drive by it on my way to school. I don't recall the name of the motel but the sign outside read, "Love Thy Neighbor....here!" or something like that. I seem to recall they also…
