If I can I’d drive it home. I’ve done this twice - in 2000 I flew from STL to Indianapolis to buy a bone stock ‘89 Mustang LX hatch (5.0/5Spd) and in 2011 I flew from STL to Dallas to buy a ‘03 Miata. It’s a great way to get acquainted with a car.

Yeah - at first I was like I will upgrade, but seeing all the issues people have had, I’ll take my chances and leave them as is.

When I was 18 and delivering pizza for Domino’s in ‘91 - when they still had the 30 mins or $3 off deal - it was minimum wage ($4.25/hr) + tips and they would give us the Federal 25 cent/mile mileage allowance. I was usually making $12+/hr back then.
