Maybe we’ll get carbon fiber side-paneling instead.
Girl, you know I race for Red Bull, so you know I’ll make that paddock full...
Well, at the very least, this was Alonso cementing his place as world champion of Least Likable F1 Driver. Jesus, what a petulant display - Johnny is doing his job as commentator, and this is part of the game. Total dick move, Alonso.
I think you’re on the right track here (seriously, you can calculate how many Cheerios will be in your car with the equation n * 1,000,000 where n=the number of Cheerios you thought you gave your toddler). But, we need to think about automating this process. Why not have a Roomba-like device that knows the nooks and…

CONCUR. Anything that gets closer to racing wagon is better.
Man, Lotus really screwed up by being more-dysfunctional-than-usual right now. The revolution in sports cars toward less power, less weight would’ve been ripe for a big Lotus comeback.
This actually makes a lot of sense. Modern cars are geared so high these days to use all the torque made by turbos and electric motors, so do you really need 8 gears? Even a 2.0T Buick Regal is over 70 in 2nd gear when the rev limiter hits. I’m not sure losing 2 gears would really affect drivability at that point.
My friends - to their credit - got a really good deal on a used Volt. I was excited that they had made an actual informed car decision until they exclaimed, “...and the best part is we don’t have to do any maintenance!”
I wish someone a lot smarter than me would put together some numbers on the emissions impact of just racing. Or the differential between no emissions equipment and all the race cars having factory emission equipment. My gut says it would be pretty small, but maybe this is needed. Maybe if everyone is forced to run…
A race-prepped Focus RS would be a perfect top-tier car for a hybrid grassroots/professional endurance racing series. Multiple classes with a pathway to a “factory” drive, allbeit one in a class below that of the lowest ALMS class or whatever.
Maybe Sabine will be the new STIG! The third host will be Chris Harris - he was pictured in this tweet from Chris Evans today.
These are fun! Here are two I wrote:

So with snow, I agree, it doesn’t do much. But I used to live in Oklahoma, where they get ice storms, and I can verify that getting your wipers unstuck from a half inch of ice does, in fact, suck.

You need some sort of system for rescuing dumbasses from ditches, preferably without having to get out of the car. Maybe a harpoon-mounted tow hook?
