Those issues are really hard to track down too! I've been trying for years but there are so many gaps. I would just cave in and buy a collection if they offered one.

Plotting changes aside, there was just zero chemistry between the leads. Even the scene where they make out in their underwear to hide from the cold is more sexless than any romance from Saved by the Bell.

Joe Kelly had a really fun Superboy run that happened concurrently with Young Justice. It's right around the time he ditches the leather jacket and gets a new costume with a soul patch. I've been meaning to hunt those down in the bargain bins at my next convention.

There's also some really stupid symbolism with the death happening inside a clock tower (that's in the middle of an electrical grid for some reason) and time literally runs out at the moment Gwen dies.

The unluckiest person in all of this is Josh Radnor. His career had some steam at one point (he directed 2 indie movies that got some attention) and would have benefited if the show had ended 4-5 years earlier. He's always been a guy with limited range, but there were times where the audience was more on his side. He

Judging by his recent Spider-Man spinoff books, I don't think his humor is quite as strong as it used to be. The more glaring problem with following these titles is the free-wheeling nature to his plotting, which is more akin to old school comic writing where you're just writing a different adventure month to month.

In interviews, Remender stated that the book was mostly focused on Psylocke and that for Final Execution, he wanted to shift the focus to Wolverine and make the last big story about him. I don't think he was entirely successful and the second half of the series is definitely not as good as the first half, but he

I'm a Dane Dehaan fan from Chronicle and a few other movies, so I thought his spoiled and unhinged Harry Osborn was just fine up until he becomes a pretty badly realized Green Goblin. It just felt like the movie couldn't get past the most obvious question, which was: WHY are we watching another Green Goblin depiction

The romantic stuff surprisingly works in that movie. It doesn't help that the other 3/4 of the movie is a real stinker. Aside from the cheesy villains, there's also the the plot about Peter Parker's parents that absolutely no one asked for.

If you're enjoying YJ, I'd highly recommend the Impulse run by Mark Waid and Humberto Ramos. It's one of the most enjoyable teen superhero books of all time and has a similar sense of humor.

I agree with what Simon says above. Johns gets some solid stories out of this group, but for serious YJans (like me) it still doesn't work because he dramatically changes the characters of Superboy, Impulse, and Wonder Girl in ways that are more dramatic but are considerably less enjoyable. The only YJ holdover he

Since I feel like I'm always talking about Spidey comics, I'm going to switch to toys.

The 90s cartoon definitely doesn't hold up as well as I had hoped, but I think it has the definitive version of the black costume saga. I really can't understand why they didn't just adapt that story for Spider-Man 3. They already introduced John Jameson and everything!

Having watched ASM2 again yesterday, the suit does look incredible but they do lack expressiveness. There are a lot of strange scenes where he's talking through the mask in this one and it just seems like a vacant stare. The Raimi films addressed this by having him take off his mask too many times, but ASM2 was the

When I call the ASM films brand destroying, it has more to do with public perception and reboot fatigue. The box office difference between the Raimi films and the ASM films is astounding. Like I said before, a lot of my nerdy friends who love superhero movies are not interested in the new one just because they don't

There's also the issue where Snapper Carr arrives as their new mentor and he's complaining on the phone with Rick Jones, who is currently molecularly bonded with Genis Vell in the Captain Marvel series. PAD was writing both and snuck in a secret crossover. Not exactly a meta moment, but a fun easter egg you may have

I can see why people feel that way about the character, but I kind of enjoy the Superboy Prime revamp for being the most Geoff Johnsian character of all time.

"I'll show Fantomex that he's not the only one with a full character arc!"

I like to imagine that Invincible Iron Man ended with the epic World's Most Wanted storyline. It's my favorite Iron Man story of all time while I guess also being my favorite Maria Hill story too. RedeemIng Tony after Civil War should have been an impossible task but Fraction was able to pull it off.

I just thought I'd be careful since she's a fan favorite and I wasn't sure if it was meant to be a surprise, but I guess it doesn't spoil anything. It's honestly such a bizarre comic that it's hard to spoil.
