Synch died saving everybody from some bombs during the very last run on Generation X, written by Brian Wood. It sucks he died, but at least it wasn't as a random bystander.

Gen X suffers from the shock value death too. See: Skin, who was killed off as a random extra and later shown with a gravestone where they spelled his name wrong.

She became my favorite character in the entire X-Men franchise the moment she started eating cereal and staring menacingly at the security footage of dudes coming to kill her.

My only real comparison is the Simpsons comics from Bongo, but I thought Rick & Morty did a much better job of nailing the character voices. I was definitely reading with the voice actors in mind, which I don't think I've ever really done with any Simpsons book. The only problem I had with the book is that it's

On the one hand, Zdarsky's Spider-Man preview featured a significantly improved version of the MJ relationship from what we've been seeing over the past several years. On the other hand, Spidey's banter started with one decent joke "Vulture is old har har har" and ran into the ground with diminishing returns.

I was initially interested in that animated movie, but I eventually realized that those interconnected New 52 movies are just not for me at all. Every single one I watched was just a bizarre blend of sophomoric writing for a children's show with ultraviolent action scenes and sexual innuendos. I have no idea who the

Hey everybody! Let's have a Free Comic Book Day chat.

I'm really glad I didn't read this review - or most in general - before seeing the movie. That Fresh Prince reference is basically a spoiler!

X-Men Blue proves that you can actually still tell entertaining stories with the characters, but it's reasonable to be upset on basic principle just because they're on their THIRD ongoing series while so many beloved X-characters are languishing around in limbo. There's just too much redundancy here.

I'm bracing myself for a steep drop in quality in OML once the new team starts. Mike Deodato Jr. is just several notches below Andrea Sorrentino at this stage in his career.

For me, it'd be Brubaker and Allred who get the automatic purchase from me, though usually in trade.

The version of the X-Men in ASM Renew Your Vows is so awesome. I wish they had just gave them an X-Men Renew Your Vows spinoff instead of X-Men '92. It might just be because Ryan Stegman's art is so awesome drawing those Jim Lee X-Men costumes. That guy was wasted on all those Inhuman books.

I think mediocrity like his is worse than being horrible.

What's really annoying is knowing that Geoff Johns is the one who plotted the story, so it feels like he's still trying to convince us that Flashpoint was a cool and memorable series. I can't help but see it as a "snake eating its own tail" moment as Johns finally comes around to getting nostalgic about his own comics.

Yeah, I mean, what I find so upsetting is that it's a character I really love who's a legitimately underrated historic part of the Marvel Universe at this point. The manner in which he's killed is very unjust, but it feels earned and it doesn't seem like he's a random name character getting rolled out for a big death

Wtf… you can read free trades through Amazon Prime now?! How does this work

Secret Empire #1 left me feeling a lot more conflicted than I expected. Mild spoilers to follow:

Congrats to Oliver and team on the Eisner Award nomination!

Divinity II - I thought the first mini series was a really unique comic that reminded me the most of his excellent creator-owned work. It told an epic tale about a godlike protagonist with a unique upbringing that made him ultimately human. I was surprisingly disappointed by this follow-up though, which starts

I can excuse a lot of the bad acting on this show because of how centered it is around representation. When I think of a lot of the POC actors on this show, I honestly think: what the hell kind of opportunities are they even getting that would allow them to hone their skills onscreen? Master of None is likely the
