No it's definitely not Alan Yang, but an actor playing a character who is loosely based on him. You can see the real Alan Yang accepting the Emmy Award with Aziz for "Parents."

I heard that Generation Zero #9 was the last issue of the series. I was planning to pick up the series in trade but lost interest after I found out — doesn't sound like a complete run! Judging by your comment, it didn't feel like a planned conclusion?

The big problem with that first trade is that the story just hops from one nonsensical twist to the next. There's not even a moment to pause and let the individual mysteries stand, and the frantic pace doesn't allow for many character moments (the highlight of the series so far).

Even Brian Wood's female X-Men book was pretty good at the beginning before that happened! Battle of the Atom tanked a lot of X-books at that time.

I liked the first volume enough but could see why others wouldn't. It was relentlessly bleak at times. The characters have started to become more likable and their relationships more meaningful with occasional moments of lightness. There was a spotlight issue on Driller that literally had me laugh out loud as I read

While reading those Daredevil issues and wincing through Soule's attempt at writing the SF happy version of Matt Murdock, I landed on the main thing that's bothered me about this run and its plot regression with Matt's secret ID.

I can think of at least a handful of obscure indie comics because of the write-ups by Oliver and the other writers on this site. It would be nice to have some more balance with superhero coverage though. I know that other sites almost solely cover those books, but they don't have as strong of a comment community as we

I personally like to use upvoting just because of it helps bump up the conversations that are drawing the most attention. I like to upvote something when I'd like to see more people notice it and get involved in the discussion. In that way, it's more useful than a Facebook like or something similar. When I check

All-New started off with a decent hook and had a higher-than-average period of sustained quality before taking a huge dip like all of Bendis' team books. I'd say it happened around Battle of the Atom and never recovered.

I've fallen off from JLA because I was really disappointed after how much I loved those solo issues that preceded the book's launch. The individual characters are great! I did not like at all how those first issues focused on these uninteresting villains. It reminded me of my occasional complaints about Busiek's

That's comforting to hear. The series has shown promise and has gotten better in the issues I've read, but that opening arc is probably the sloppiest one BKV has ever written.

Still enjoying Detective but I wish the artwork was more consistent. It was pretty strong right out the gate with Eddy Barrows and some similar styles but it's looking more like the Eternal weekly books now.

Oh man, I'm so glad to be back to talking civilly about comics again after the shitshow last week. Good to see you guys again!

You both don't necessarily need to have the most stuff in common. My favorite thing about going on dates is getting to learn about another person, plus it beats sittin around at home by yourself. Good luck friend! Just try to enjoy yourself.

Descender Vol. 3 - A volume that barely moves any plot points forward but I absolutely loved. In most cases I'd be annoyed by reading several issues that fail to build from the previous volume's cliffhanger, but this was a very necessary and entertaining series of standalone issues focusing on flashbacks for

He was really good in supporting roles in both Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty. I was really thrown off when I saw how bland he could be as a leading man in Jurassic World. Hopefully he gets a better agent who helps him pick roles that suit him better, like Peter Quill.

I'm at least optimistic about the return of legacy numbering. I mean, it certainly hasn't hurt the sales for Detective or Action Comics. Detective Comics, in particular, seems to be performing way better than I can remember in its recent history.

When I first saw the news that Jude Law was cast as Dumbledore, I was so confused because I had completely forgotten that this Fantastic Beasts franchise was even a thing. And I saw that movie in theaters!

Xavier is the only character that really should be in all these movies. I'm fine if we never see Mystique onscreen again. And Magneto also flows in and out of the comic books periodically so that he can keep making his last page cliffhanger appearances. I'd love to see Fassbender sit out for a few movies so that they

I have a lot of hope for New Mutants. Until Spider-Man; Homecoming, I've long wondered why none of the movies in the superhero boom have tried to cover teenage superheroes* yet since it's one of my favorite sub-genres in comics. Plus from a money-making perspective you can add in that YA demographic to your superhero
