Her very confusing power set in Age of Ultron weakened the character for me because I just couldn't understand anything about her - plus the whole Stark vendetta that's quickly forgotten.

Like you mentioned, the X-Men line has been one of the strangest corners in comics ever since Marvel's A-list team became the Avengers. The writers seem to struggle with being unable to have their work result in having that much consequence to the larger world while still receiving too much editorial mismanagement.

He still writes reviews for story arcs on all the x-books. It's not as comprehensive as his old site, but he's still the best commentator on x-books.

I remember being somewhat optimistic of his New 52 Teen Titans relaunch because I had recently re-read his run with Bachalo on Generation X. I was completely wrong and the difference in quality was like night and day, but those Gen-X issues really do hold up. One of my favorite x-books ever, at least under that

We all discussed a bit last week about Johns' increased role in DC Films, but didn't really bring up how he's going to have a rather distant involvement in the Rebirth titles after they launched in spite of the amount of promotion DC spent on Rebirth being the big return of Geoff Johns.

I didn't mind his Cyclops either. He was writing Uncanny when it was completely appropriate to make him the central figure in the line. The only downside is that he seemed to be writing Cyclops as a leader without any tangible plan, which was disappointing for all the hype around a so-called mutant revolution.

I really liked his Minutemen series. It's not as good as The New Frontier, but it's definitely him writing/drawing under that mode.

I really want to talk about it, but I agree that it's best to reserve judgment until we've actually read the issue.

I read the Twelve recently and it was probably the last good comic book that JMS ever wrote. I remember the series having a lot of hype early on that seemed to dissipate amidst some insanely long delays. Even reading it all at once, I thought it was fairly good but the "Marvel's Watchmen" proclamations at the time

I remember Age of Apocalypse being the coolest story I had ever read. I haven't dared revisit the event since aging out of my teens, but a bummer about the new movie apparently being lackluster is that I wish we got a full-blown AoA adaptation instead. Apocalypse himself has never been that interesting to me, but he's

That story is probably the best final issue out of any run I've read. The closing scenes with Hela, Thor, and Lil Loki all left me reeling.

Agreed. If my main reason for purchasing a book is the artwork, then I stay away from digital. I look for the most oversized and prestigious format I can find.

Considering how Johns wrote such a great run of the Flash featuring Wally West and the Rogues, the outright badness of The Flash: Rebirth is truly baffling.

Out of all the things that One More Day retconned, what I probably miss the most* is the developments JMS wrote for Aunt May. Her finding out about his secret was a legitimately groundbreaking story and folded her into the main plots much better now that she was no longer a walking plot device. Regular Aunt May is a

I haven't been to SDCC in 10+ years, but at this point they seem to be pretty similar as far as crowds and demand go. I've been able to luck out and get a Professional Badge the last few years because NYCC includes educators under that umbrella.

"(with, perhaps, the exception of Batman)."

The "Talking with David" issues were the highlights from the run for me. I remember loving the very first one when I read it and being shocked when people told me that it was actually the worst one. I had no idea they could get so much emotional resonance out of an annual series of issues that are essentially dream

I go to NYCC every year, except I'm going to miss out on 2016 because I'm getting married that weekend. Uggghhh what a dummy!

DC is very different from how it was when I was an early teen, when I was able to read Young Justice, Impulse, Superboy, and Robin.
