Teen Titans hasn't been the same since Geoff Johns. I remember one big arc had them fighting against Dr. Light, in his first appearance after being revealed as an evil rapist.

I remember that JMS scene infuriated me (+ others on the internet) when that happened because it felt like another drawn out way of keeping them apart. He actually reunited them almost immediately afterwards, so in hindsight that scene works really well.

Cooke's run on the Spirit is one of the only times I regret buying floppies for a monthly. His art just demanded to be read in an oversized format. I couldn't help myself and wait though.

I also prefer the book. The movie ruined it by having Nite-Owl witness the moment and give a very cliched "NOOOOOOO!" while dropping to the floor and screaming in the air.

I just wanted to add that my favorite thing about the Great Society arc is that there's a twist to the story, in that you're expecting the other heroes to be corrupt Authority-style team, but it turns out that our characters are the assholes! It was a really unexpected development that pushed the series further than I

Oh God. Plus human Ben pounding on the wall and coincidentally turning back into the Thing as he does it. Johnny: "I wouldn't wish it any other way."

My favorite issue out of his entire Avengers oeuvre is the New Avengers issue where they defeat the Great Society and blow up their planet. I was curious how far they'd allow their characters to go on their dilemma because, after all, these are licensed characters whose status quos can't be disrupted THAT much. I was

It was really fascinating to see his place in the industry, especially considering he wasn't even in it for relatively that long before becoming a legend. I was honestly surprised to see so many contemporary artists intimidated and awestruck by him.

I actually didn't mind the swirl logo and thought that it looked fine as a movie studio logo too. I think this might have only happened once - the Green Lantern movie? - but it animated well and could have been a good comparison to the Marvel Studios logo.

Oh yeah. She cried during that one too.

A perfectly reasonable explanation for "Why is this character such an asshole?" that no one bothered to ask before.

Since you're here, I should mention another one from our homeboy Jonathan Hickman:

How about a Big Issues in the News thread? Here we can talk about big topics from the week, some of which include:
- Various Darwyn Cooke retrospectives
- DC's new logo
- Geoff Johns new role as co-head of DC Films

I'm a sucker for any time Spider-Man is caught holding up some heavy object - usually rubble. The iconic scene from the famous "The Final Chapter" issue of the original Lee/Ditko run is the moment that encapsulates the entire character to me: the down-on-his-luck everyman who has to push himself to all extremes to

What did you read this week?

After the previous night's SHIELD finale, I'm just glad to be outside of a warehouse!

I don't watch any of his shows, but I find myself listening to the Nerdist podcast because he frequently gets amazing guests who can be very niche. Dude deserves credit for that.

After they revealed her to be Daisy, I remember the showrunners describing in interviews that they always had an inkling that they wanted her to be *somebody* and they eventually had a list of possible comic book characters she could turn out to be. They didn't decide on Quake until they were partway through season 2.

When asked in interviews, I remember him just saying that the rights to the Netflix characters is actually a lot more complicated than you would expect. That doesn't sound like a very solid rumor, but I wouldn't rule it out.

In the same convention panel, she admitted that she found out that her character was Daisy Johnson literally the day before they filmed that reveal.
