I love what you are describing but it is basically Metal Gear Solid.

"But you are correct that of the main cast she is the most disposable."

The show's improved since they've left, IMO. Nothing against the characters, but that show REALLY needed to trim some characters. I feel like the show's finally at a point where they can juggle plots between their major players within one episode without most of them coming off undercooked.

They've been holding off on giving Hive his comic book appearance in favor of vague sand-like effects coming out of his hands. They'll likely pull the trigger on the facial effects during the finale. Kind of like they did with Mr. Hyde's transformation, but hopefully less unintentionally hilarious.

I love these articles for being so comprehensive and approaching the core topics in a way that still feels new to me, even as someone whose Feedly consists almost entirely of comic book websites. Keep em coming!

It was astounding how many ongoing books had Iron Man show up after Civil War just so the protagonists could look good by giving Tony Stark a mouthful about how much of a douche he was being. Some of these moments were enjoyable (Thor confronting Tony about the Clor nonsense), but it got quickly repetitive.

Right. There's something oddly personal and vindictive with his negative reviews sometimes. It's pretty far removed from some of the more entertaining takedowns you read from writers like Rabin. It often feels like he has a lot of stuff he's working through personally while writing these reviews.

"future-sequel groundwork as last summer’s Age Of Ultron."

Those are my feelings too. I remember when they first announced that this story would serve both as a standalone event and as a conclusion to Hickman's complex runs on FF and Avengers, I thought to myself, "This is a bad idea."

Misty's been one of the main supporting characters, though they've lost track of her for a bit during the Avengers Standoff crossover. I'd recommend this series if you're a big Misty fan. She's hilarious in this book. It's far better than Remender's Sam/Cap book, which was only really notable for the Stuart Immonen

The two Cap books by Spencer definitely have me more interested than the two Iron Man books by Bendis. Why do there need to be two monthlies following the same character, written by the same creator? Why not one double-shipping monthly? Just because his X-Men and Avengers run also had two books? That is a bad reason.

I posted this on last Friday's thread, but got on there a little late because I was travelling and missed out on the conversation. Forgive me for double dipping…

I'll just add on to what @avclub-736b5537f9be43bbd2a2387d93e00284:disqus said. The core family is probably one of the most likable casts of non-superhero protagonists I've followed in comics. The events of the series are *very* brutal, but those siblings keep you invested enough that you worry about their fate. I love

From what I recall, it hasn't been answered yet, but Matt did *something* that restored his secret identity and cost him his relationships with Foggy and Kristen as a result. Foggy's still around, though he resents Matt and seems to be the only one who still knows his secret. We haven't seen Kristen.

Caught up on a bunch of my Spider-Man related monthlies this week.

Runaways was great because it felt like a Brian K. Vaughan creator-owned series that just happened to take place in the Marvel universe. It was actually an odd yet exciting development whenever a character like Spider-Man showed up in the series.

McAvoy's really got nothing else big going on - I could see him sticking around since he doesn't seem to have any Victor Frankenstein obligations to meet any time soon.

Of course, Age of Ultron is a comic book that we all just like to pretend doesn't exist. Marvel Studios got really lucky that the event book got swept under the rug so quickly after it ended.

Right. I'm assuming there are going to be a lot of people complaining about his presence in this movie because blah blah blah every X-Men movie has to be a Wolverine movie.

Given that the clunkier parts of Days of Future Past revolved around her moral conflict between good and bad, I think I'm okay with them just throwing in the towel and making her a hero in this one. It doesn't really fit the character as written in the comics, but it better suits the performer and the trajectory of
