Seems like he wasn't a fan of the writing for his character either

I'll throw Hawkeye's "NOT LIKE THIS!!! LIKE THIS!!!!!!" death into that mix tape of horror as well.

Right, I'll take Civil War over Secret Invasion or House of M any day of the week. At least stuff actually happened in it, and there were some pretty shocking* cliffhangers spread throughout.

I'm pretty sure Bendis was the one bring back the character in his Daredevil. It's the same Night Nurse. I'm not sure if her relationship with Strange is still a thing, but I assume so just because it's been a while. Based on how Marvel has been lately, I assume they're going to phase her out and introduce Claire

Whoa, that's really surprising especially because that's the type of site that most industry people would shun. Anyway, she's the greatest.

Hey! I got the exact same book signed by Greg Pak at Special Edition NYC last year. As an Asian American dude, I chatted him up about how much I love Amadeus Cho and he seemed to really enjoy what the character represents. Cho is probably his proudest accomplishment as a mainstream comics writer so far. I told him I

Just based off her twitter account, Gail Simone seems to have the loveliest relationship with her fans. A month ago she told a very cute story about a fan using her signing line as an opportunity to propose to his girlfriend, getting Gail to write "Will you marry me?" on the girlfriend's copy of Clean Room. It was

I have a few, but two pop out in my head:

I didn't realize there was an epilogue mini-series wrapping up Remender's Punisher run, called Punisher: In the Blood, so I read that this week. It was mainly around to tie up loose ends and was pretty serviceable. I'm glad his sidekick got a happy ending, but I could have safely just stopped reading after

I still have a really hard time picturing John Krasinski as Steve Rogers though. I know he was one of the runner-ups to Evans, but in my head I have a hard time picturing him as such an earnest guy without a dumb Jim face.

This is a good idea for a thread. Let's run with it on Friday's Back Issues (when more eyes will see this discussion).

It's such a gamble to mix or interact with creators. I honestly wish I never joined twitter because it's ruined several people whose work I really enjoyed before I saw how they interact with others. Dan Slott and Max Landis are two writers who I imagine I'd be touting as heavily underrated if I didn't know more about

I was never interested in C-3PO either, but this issue is really good! Both from a writing and visual standpoint. Plus it's only one issue so you don't have much to lose.

He's actually a really unique writer in the amount of reading you have to do in order to get a payoff. Individual issues by Hickman can leave me cold, but the entire runs of his books end up being some of my favorite comics I have ever read.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I'm not quite sure where I draw the line at all times, but this book seems beyond it. The line currently stops somewhere around Brian Wood as the most questionable creator I allow myself to support.

I was really pleasantly surprised by C-3PO because I never expected to feel empathy towards the character. He's just an annoying robot!

At this point I'm surprised they didn't announce Civil War II as an ongoing.

I'm excited to read the last trade. I guess it doesn't count as an ongoing then.

I think I've been hesitant to pick up the book due to some moral complications. If I buy the collections he worked on, then sure, he'll definitely get some money off of that. Does he get some type of ongoing compensation for later issues and eventual possible adaptations too? I'm not sure how the co-creator status is

Agreed. I actually talked to him for a while at NYCC and almost bought some original art from the series because it was relatively cheap and I was interested in starting the book. I didn't end up doing it, and then a few months later the big story came out on Bleeding Cool.
