That was one of those situations where there wasn't really any question to the identity among fans who were "in the know." I don't remember anyone having to lie about it in interviews, but they didn't give it away in the trailers or anything.

Has anyone read the Greg Pak run that followed World War Hulk? I remember Jeph Loeb was writing the main Hulk title starring the Red Hulk, which I couldn't possibly run away from fast enough. It seems that Greg Pak wrote assorted sister titles for the main book. Are any of those worth looking into? I'm wondering

Compare that to Spider-Gwen, which literally ended its first volume in the middle of a story. I guess I couldn't complain because it gave me a perfect jumping off point.

I loved BuckyCap too! I feel like they really dropped the ball with the character afterwards. His Brubaker-written title maintained the quality of the BuckyCap era, but after Brubaker jumped ship they cancelled the book because they basically kept it around as a favor to him.

That's what happened with the last "New" Captain America that everybody liked.

Agreed. At this point, the Inhuman plot is generally the weakest part of Agents of SHIELD. They're not allowed to touch the royal family due to the eventual Inhumans movie, so we're just left with the undercooked X-Men ripoff aspect of the comics. There's a certain "When are we going to get to the fireworks factory?"

"Wow that's really big!"

Check out those Freaks & Geeks-era sideburns!

That's what I was looking for too!

MTV usually went to my school (UCLA) to recruit people for their dating shows just for ease of proximity. One day while walking home from campus, my roommate had a cute girl from MTV ask him to give her his contact information for an audition. He left with a smug look on his face, feeling confident like a cool guy.

Even the commonly referenced low point of season 1 - the Oliver storyline - is about 4 episodes long and quickly brushed aside and never referenced again. They practically didn't need to course correct because the season 1 plotting was so fast. I think they lost the thread after that season, but man… what a season!

Can you imagine if Matt Fraction had stayed on the Inhuman book after Infinity? He was meant to be the high profile writer. I can't imagine it would have been that great compared to his creator-owned stuff, but I do wonder how his alternate take would have compared to Charles Soule's. At the very least, I imagine it

Humble Bundle has two big deals right now on Top Cow books and Army of Darkness books. You can donate whatever you want and get a bunch of books that way:

How do you feel about the New Avengers artist? I feel like his style fit the AoA Secret Wars mini quite well because it was so absurd and 90s-like. I don't think I'm enjoying how it fits with a more superhero tone like New Avengers. The artwork is frankly a little too distracting.

Remember what happens to their tween-aged Victor Stone? Wooooo boy. This movie is dark.

That sounds really interesting and I'll have to check it out. Can you describe what aspects sound particularly bitter? Does he passively aggressive just emphasize how much he prefers working with creative freedom?

Don't read New Avengers #1 for the same reason!

Not to mention putting Bob Harras in charge of their huge line-wide relaunch, in spite of his name becoming synonymous with the Near-Death of the Industry in the 90s.
