These designs actually look like the costume worn by Janet during the flashback scene that shows her and Hank in action. I imagine the Hope costume will look more like the one shown in the post-credits scene.

Thanks! Hm, I've been waiting to pull the trigger on either Scribd or Marvel Unlimited. I think you just gave Scribd the edge on that one.

"It's the best Tim Drake stuff in the reboot so far" in the sense that they finally bothered to give him a personality: cocky tech-whiz. That's good enough for me! Keep running with it!

I'm going to NYCC throughout this weekend and Valiant is advertising their patented "Five $9.99 Volume 1 books for $30" deal. I've gotten into a few series this way, but I'm so intimidated to go in and get more. All of those Vol. 1's get followed by 2's! And 3's! And 4's! Etc.

Same. They get too unwieldy on a monthly basis. But then we miss out on all those magnificent extras =(

I continued diving into the Valiant relaunch books from a few years back. Harbinger Vol. 1 was incredible and I can't wait to read the rest of this series. I've never read anything by Joshua Dysart before, but I think I'm already a huge fan. Bloodshot Vol. 1, however, was probably the first dud I've read in the

Silk is definitely the winner out of those new Spider-books. It feels like the book that I wish Spider-Gwen turned out to be. Only the art has been refreshing on the latter. When Spider-Gwen took its Secret Wars hiatus, I decided to hop off that wagon.

I'm not sure about Tahmoh Penikett. His next chance was as the male lead on Dollhouse, which I think most people will agree he blew it. He's only had a few 1-2 episode guest arcs on several shows since then, which may be relatively good if the other BSG actors are getting even less work?

Ok, I'll bite.

I stopped reading Aquaman a long time ago, but the spoilers have gotten me curious.

In interviews around the time, Whedon was really excited about making a big contribution to the Marvel Universe by showing us Marvel 1907, which had never been shown before. I was so baffled by this, as it seemed like something that absolutely nobody wanted.

The prematurely ended Nico/Victor relationship was annoying to me too. Vaughn literally ended his run with them getting together in the last scene, after about a year of flirtation. There were storytelling opportunities in that relationship, but again, Whedon shunted it off to the side just so that he could play with

It strangely gets a lot better once Jim Lee is off it, is what you're saying. I still consider myself a fan of Lee, but his art seemed to make Johns crank up the tone to "dumb blockbuster" way too often. There's a reason that the Justice League: War movie is absolutely horrid without the Jim Lee art.

Fabok has really gotten great on the JL book. Before, I just remember people using his work as a negative example of the generic DC house style. They were kinda right at the time — his Batman Eternal work came off as muddy generic Jim Lee — but he's improved greatly since around that JL arc with the contagion. I'll

A Once Crowded Sky is a pretty fun Watchmen-esque story. The only criticism I can say is that the names are a little silly. PenUltimate — the former sidekick of Ultimate — is the main character, for example. After reading that book, I really wondered why this guy didn't just write comics, since he clearly had a love

I feel like Seeley was teamed up with King so they could get a name writer on the book rather than leaving it on an unproven comics writer to launch a new book. Secret Warriors did the same thing, with Bendis working on the first arc on the book with Hickman before leaving it entirely in his hands. (In that case, he

What did you read this week?

I got a little tired of the DC direct to dvd movies when they just kept rehashing famous DC stories. The New Frontier and Batman Year One were both decent movies, but they were nowhere near as effective as the original books. Just something felt a little off and overly constrained about them. I didn't even bother with

It's already earned super obvious points for being the end credits theme for V for Vendetta, but sure why not.

My main problem with the show is a fairly commonly stated one: the overemphasis on the Skye character. There's simply too many characters on the show without someone who can function as a true lead on the show. The best characters on the show — Fitz, Mockingbird, May, Ward — are all side characters. Coulson started
