I went to an all-girls Catholic high school, and where I am, Catholic education is the only real private education there is. (I'm not Catholic, btw.) It was great. I loved it. I definitely felt that we expected to excel in all of our academics, and I was never subjected to this "boys are better at STEM" stuff I

:)

FYI, I'm vegan, and I think that whenever we can find alternatives to animal testing we should, but that shouldn't stop us from curing cancer or anything else, you know?

My nose is bleeding excessively from the winter dry air indoors (heater on/low humidity). I can't imagine destroying my lovely hanky with my pink nose ooze.

What?

She's Russian. They don't have that holiday.

When I was a kid, I was fat, and my doctor would just tell me over and over again how I was just going to get fatter and fatter. No matter what I came in for, it always ended up being about how fat I was. He was part of a large practice with lots of doctors, so I didn't always see him and hated when I did.

You're right, actual examples of racism by politicians is evidence. Saying "I once heard my friend say blah so Italians on the street are just as racist," isn't.

I don't think your one Italian friend saying something racist means that Italians as a whole are racist. I mean, I've heard a lot of Americans say a lot worse, and I wouldn't say the one quality that marks all Americans is "open racism."

My cat loves mint, too! He'll steal peppermints or even just the wrappers (bonus plastic to chew on). Once when he was a kitten, I blew toothpaste smell in his face, and he bit my cheek!

I stopped watching after that. I've thought about other storylines I was curious about, and then I remembered Anna, and just went, "Oh no..."

One of my black students told me that all of the white kids were touching her hair. (It was sort of a pulled back 'fro.) I said that probably wasn't a great thing, and she was like, "No! It is! All of my hair is falling out because I don't moisturize it or brush it or anything!"

I don't know if you were being sarcastic about that fermented bean paste thing, but I have some in my pantry right now that I got from the Asian market by my house. It's awesome.

I watched like half of it and was all "meh."

Popeyes... MILD???

The ultrasound isn't about convincing women that the zygote is a child they should carry to term. It's about punishing women and making the abortion more difficult (not just emotionally but all around) to get.

That's a whole lot of words it took you explaining you just think fat people are ugly.

The theme was punk, wasn't it? Most did it poorly. She did it well.

Shit, I accidentally clicked on a Tracie Egan Morrissey post.

Jumper in America is also a dress for a girl, often with a shirt underneath.
