I thought he was a throwaway too. I’d managed to avoid all of the publicity - I didn’t know he existed until I saw the film today - so I had no expectations. The story’s fine without him and I think it actually strengthens Finn’s character to lose a friend, feels like too much like they just added another first-rung…
